the band trips don't count against their allowed absences and they have the same allowed time for making up work. I think its 2 days for every 1 day absent.
That is correct. I am the one who wants his work made up ahead of time, if possible. My point was that there are lots of good reasons that kids are out of school, including family vacations. If she gets it approved ahead of time, there should be no problem counting it as excused and getting work made up.
My daughter is in the 8th grade and if I remembering correctly I was told at orientation that when the child was absent she would be requested to make up that work that she missed after school, not during the day since it would interfer with the regular school schedule and that parents would need to make arrangements to pick up their children after school. Please someone correct me if I misunderstood, because I work an hour away from school
