PUBLIC NOTICE APPOINTMENT OF COUNTY COMMISSIONER REPRESENTING COUNTY COMMISSIONER DISTRICT 6 Please be advised that the Johnston County Board of Commissioners are accepting applications from interested citizens to be considered for appointment as a Johnston County Commissioner representing County Commissioner District 6 that is being vacated at the end of September. Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-27, to be eligible for appointment to fill a vacancy, a person must be a member of the same political party and be a resident of the same district as the member being replaced; therefore, applicants must be a registered Republican and reside within County Commissioner District 6. A map of the Johnston County Commissioner Districts is located online at www.JohnstonNC.com/commissioners; however, interested citizens are encouraged to contact the Johnston County Board of Elections Office at (919) 989-5095 to verify that they reside within County Commissioner District 6 before applying.
