I remember a while back a little girl (5-7 yrs old) that was at the bus stop in front of her house one morning. Her mother use to watch her from the window. One morning her mother went to the bathroom and when she returned the girl was gone. Thinking the bus picked her up she thought nothing of it, until the bus stopped and blew the horn to let the family know it was there. Unfortunately, the girl was found dead and had been raped and beaten.

Do what you think is right. It's your child.

I know this is way off topic but I saw this happen today...

I was walking through Walmart today around 3 pm. There was a small group of kids running literally wild throughout the store. We were in the very back in the bedding section of the store and they were chasing each other from the bedding section, through clothes, through the baby section, through the luggage section and back again. There was about 6 kids total, ranging in age from 4 to 8.

    I kid you not...

There was a group of women I came across one aisle over talking. I overheard them talking about hiring a 12 yr old to watch their kid and so forth. The whole time, their very own children are running wild over the store! I wasnt sure if the kids belonged to them at first or not until one of them RAN UP AND LITERALLY HIT THEIR MOTHER IN THE LEG...another kid ran up and his hit mother in the leg..they both took off in opposite directions. The mothers barely even blinked. Never said a word. Continued on talking to each other, laughing, joking...having a good time.

I finally went up to them and say, "Hey, are those yours?"

They all stopped talking and glared at me. I walked off just shaking my head.

I can't possibly understand how anyone can let a 12 year old watch kids with that kind of behavior. Another customer saw this happening and got an employee to walk over and say something. By this time, a crowd formed around watching. The mothers all scooped up their kids and put them in the cart. One mother got hit in the face by her 7 year old and again, did nothing.

For a few minutes, I swear, I was watching a really bad tv show.

Did anyone else see this? I know my mother was a bit old when she was raising me but dang..if I pulled any of that, I would not have lived to see the next day! That just baffled me.

Sorry, had to share. That was just insane.

How do you know they wont be in the bushes. Cover your little ones mouth and GONE...If they are alone i wouldnt put it past someone, ummmm, BREAKING A FRIKIN WINDOW. Dang. I dont care if 100 people in ur neighborhood is looking, the bad guys know...not trying to be mean but why ask the question here if you already knew what u were gonna do?

    WOW..

I personally dont care where you put the kid....your life, do what u want.

Sounds like you have done some homework but NOTHING is 100%.

dont let your child be home alone

i think the age should be 15 if its several hours alone more than one hour is too much for a 12 year old hell last year my child and her friend thought it was cool to call 911 for fun . 14 year old is not much more mature opens door thinking friends are here when it is male solicitors and such more crime has happened in this neighboorhood during the day then anyone knows two doors down a burglar got in and my friends lab tore his pants off middle of the day. my grill was locked up and they smashed the pickets on the deck to get it. the all happened middle of the afternoon.

Daytime hours, normal working hours, are the most dangerous.
