Glad to hear that you enjoyed it there! Puplic transportation is a very convenient thing. Do you remember the huge bretzels at the Oktoberfest?:)

Is it a Restaurant or do they sell ethnic foods as well?

I was really disappointed with the one in Selma, even though it got good reviews online. I think part of the problem is that I miss going to the market each day, eating a brat on a little pretzel roll, and everything being so fresh and flavorful. I also miss the beer and the cute American boys from the base.

My family is all in Stuttgart, but I love Berlin and Munich best.

While in Munich did you get to go to Dallmayer's deli? I literally had to pop my eyes back into my head when we went there, sooo much good food!
I was born in Frankfurt and raised nearby.
I miss the cute American boys from the base as well and even married one:lol:

What was it you ate when you went to the one in Selma?
My friend had ordered Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and told me that the Brat tasted like it was filled with sawdust and the Sauerkraut was served cold...

My parents were both born and raised in Germany. One of my sisters was born there. I was raised on German food and miss it horribly! I would love to be able to go to a German butcher. I was raised in NY, and it's easier to get any ethnic food there, including German. i would just walk into the German butcher and ask for "4 Rouladens, please" and know I would get exactly what I needed. My mother is in Germany right now, visiting her siblings, mostly my aunt in Belm. I would love to be able to go back to visit one day, but I'd really have to brusg up an my language skill. Most of my relatives don't speak any English and believe that with my heritage, I should be fluent in German!

If you have small children, there is a German mommies group in Chapel Hill. They probably know where to buy stuff.
