My best friend found out the hard way (an accident!) that bleach in the fish tank will pretty much kill anything ... that'd take care of those snails!

Thats bad! My sister-in-law "fed" her ex's fish and his plants with bleach when she busted him cheating.

    BUMP

I've given away at LEAST 60 of these little buggers, and there are still plenty to go around!

    Who wants some snails????

Oh yeah, I forgot... I would love a few. Since the reproduce so quickly, I only need a he and a she right? Tell me when/where!

Is there any snail care I need to know? Just put them in a regular fish tank with my regular fish?

    You can come tonight!

    Edited to add:

They are not he's or she's. They are asexual, they reproduce all by their lonesome. What's funny is that I took 3 of them out, and put them in Mini Me's goldfish tank about 3 weeks ago, and they aren't reproducing in their. Maybe they don't like the conditions? LOL

No snail care needed, just put them in the tank, and let them be.

They are happily adjusting to our tank... my son named them Huey, Duey, Louiy and the gang. :)

He was very excited. So thank you....

I've gotten at least a dozen (not all at once) of the Petsmart snails for my 3 little freshwater tanks and they've ALL died. The 3 snails we have in the saltwater tank are hardy as all get-out, but those freshwater ones (at least the ones from Petsmart) must be really fragile. :?

Crush them and the other fish will eat them.

awwwww... How could you guys eat those critters or worse, force cannabilsm!

    >------> j/k <------< :twisted: :wink::wink:

...How about can they be used as fertilizer?

Seriously. If we had a fish tank I'd be wanting a few myself. Can they be set free in a pond?

As fast as those little boogers multiply you will be looking for ways to get rid of them.

Let me just tell you, the saga of the snails is over.

After giving away at least 350, and throwing in our outside pond, at least 100, and then throwing in the woods at least another 150, I decided I was done with those damn snails.

I took all the fish out and put them in a bowl, and dumped the entire tank, rocks and all, then cloroxed the tank and accessories.

They are gone! No more snails for me, ever!!!!!!!!!!

    You aren't even funny.

I started with three. I took them home from a classroom at CES at the end of the school year. Three, they multiplied into a gazillion.

    NO MORE SNAILS!!
