I wonder if going to Greenville will be a problem. I was planning on taking my daughers to go visit grandparents today.
If you leave later this AM it should be good travel. My husband is traveling I-95 to Rocky Mount. When I spoke to him, between 8:00-9:00, he said there were few overpasses he saw in Johnston Co. that did NOT have an accident, fire truck, or cars off the side of the road.
I'm still waiting to hear from my husband. He left this morning around 7:40 headed to work from Cleveland area to RTP. He has strict instructions to call when he arrives at work and after almost 2 hours I haven't heard anything yet!
my sis left for work from Benson at 6 this morning and she's still sitting on 40. hasn't even made it to 40/42 yet. i decided to sit at home til it clears up.
I left my home on Jack Rd 8:15 a.m., took the kids to the babysitters and am now in my office in downtown Raleigh at 9:30 a.m. Not too terribly bad for me, I went down Government Rd, left on 42 then took White Oak down to 70, it was slower than normal but still moving. Yes, the bridges did not look to pleasant!! Hope everyone is OK!!
Woke up to the sound of sirens this morning looked at the time and it was before 6am laid back down only to be woke up again so I turned on the news Wow what a mess hope eveyone made it to woke okay. How sad about the gentleman on 70 checking on those women, then to get struck by a car before he made it back to his own car. Prayers to his family
Just a call that he made it OK. He tried to go around it and went 10/10 all the way to Apex and then around. It still took him 3 hours but at least he's safe! Good luck to anyone else trying to get to work today.
I heard sirens this morning between 515-545. Didn't think much of it. I left Cleveland School/Glen Road at 6am.. got to work on Lake Boone Trail just at 7. Usually I can make that drive in 25 minutes. I ended up taking 50 to 1010 to 401 to the beltline. The only issue I had was on 401 North at the bridge below the bowling alley by the Citgo. There were quite a few wrecked cars on the bridge there. Hope everyone is alright!
I got to work about 45 minutes ago.....Around Thanksgiving a friend told me that when I got frustrated or stressed or just "had it", not to take anything except a "screw-it-all". (Only she used the F-word where "screwed" is). Not a tylenOL or a tegritOL......a "screw-it-OL (all)". I about took one going up hwy 50 but it cleared out and I saved the "pill" for the Christmas madness and inlaws...
What a mess! I left earlier than usual this morning to meet a co worker that was dropping a car for Service. Needless to say, I called her to cancel. I was supposed to be there at 6:30am this morning. I arrived at work at 7am. I think I was ahead of most of the wrecks though. I didn't run into any problems after leaving 40 and getting on Highway 50! I hope everyone made it okay!! I did feel good to receive several calls wanting to know if their jo. co. girl made it to work!!! Gotta love 'em!! Anyone going to the Benson Christmas Parade tonight??
I got onto I-40 at exit 312 at about 6:00 am. Went about a half mile and stopped and sat there for two and a half hours before we could move. I didn't get out to RTP until 9:30 am
I got on forty at my usual triple digit speed. Had no issues. Of course I was in front...With the other Dodges.
Scanner started going off this morning shortly after 5:00. It was one wreck after the other for a while. Hubby and I wondered what the heck had happened . . . had the rapture occured and we were left behind?!? We turned on the TV and saw all the mess. He left for work at 6:15 and got there at 9:30 (from 210 to Morrisville). I waited at home until it was safe and I got myself a good little nap while I was waiting
What a lovely day - 7:10 this morning, hubby leaves the house saying have a good day - I worked really, really late last night, then slept lousy - couldn't have gotten in more than 3 hours of sleep and I need my typical 5 to function. . .woke up exhausted and with an awful headache, and thankful I didn't have anywhere I had to be until after 1pm, so I rolled over. Seconds later, the dogs are going nuts! I drag my butt to the door to see what the heck is going on and hubby is trying to stand up - he didn't realize those 5 brick steps leading to the walkway were covered with a thin glaze of ice and really took a tumble. We had to wait till 9:45 to leave the house - as the TV said we'd just be stuck on I40 and the back roads sounded a mess too - went to the Quick Med place behind Food Lion 40/42 and were there for over two hours. . . 3 fractured ribs  Hope everyone here and the ones you love had a safer day.
