How close to 4 is he? This might be a good option for him now. Check out the reviews (4-1/2 stars w/ 229 reviews), I've seen some that mention 3 year olds using it.
He actually just turned 3, and he's a "young" 3. It'll definitely be a while before he gets one, but he might get a leapster.
Not sure what your complaint is R2CMK....... They advertised a hot item that they may be out of stock on..... I imagine they had to generate that ad weeks ago, and with the Wii supply situtation being what it is there are no guarantees that it's gonna ever be in stock. As others have mentioned, keep your eyes peeled at some of the regular stores and you'll find one for list price ($249.xx + tax). Gamestop is good, as is WalMart (if you catch them soon after they get their delivery, Target often has them in stock. All of the retailers seem to get regular deliveries via UPS of Wii systems, so you might also try stalking the UPS man and see if he will give you some info. This worked for my Father in Law- he got one within 24 hours after he started looking by talking to the UPS man at WalMart and he found out that they usually delivered the next day- so the next day he was waiting and sure enough they delivered like 50 of them. Rig
I believe Walmart gets theirs on Tuesdays, and one other days but I forget when that is. That's how it was over the summer when we got theirs. You can call the store and ask when their shipments come in, that's what we did.
I used to have a friend that worked for UPS and back when beany babies were so popular she would have folks follow her around on her route to buy them once she delivered them. She said some folks got really creepy after a while and would try to get into her truck while she was inside making deliveries.
I have seen Wii's everywhere....shouldn't be a problem....I would say after this weekend.....the hunt will be on for most, and they will be few and far between.

Because they shouldn't have advertised it if they weren't going to have it in stock. Sheesh, I looked for it ON THE SAME DAY that I got the catalog in the mail... it isn't like I waited a month, or even a week, to try to find it. And if they put it in that catalog, they need to make darn sure that you can buy it online, without having to go from store to store trying to find one. I was in the White Oak Target on Monday so I know for a fact that there were none to be found there. That's why I was excited to see it advertised in the catalog TWO DAYS later, only to be disappointed to find that it is out of stock via their website (it didn't ask for a zip code either so I took that as you can not order it online.) They shouldn't have advertised it, with the option to purchase online, if they don't have it. To me that is misleading. Get it?
Simma down there testy........ I'll bet you're a bundle of joy when they give you the small fries instead of super size at McD's. I'm not willing to gift wrap and deliver one to you, but if you spent 1/10th the time looking for a Wii that you do on here you'd already have one by now. Oh, and I wuv you.
Testy?:lol::lol::lol::lol: Do you see any exclamation marks behind my sentences? If I were really upset, trust me, you would have seen quite a few of them. It just annoyed me to for the Wii to be out of stock on the same dang day that I got the catalog. I do 99% of my Christmas shopping online these days so you are not going to find me running around trying to get my hands on a Wii. I've already changed my mind about getting them one this year anyway. What does it matter to you anyway? Do you work for Target?
Heres what I heard re: Wii @ Walmart. My neighbors son works at the Walmart, and I asked when they came in. He told me when (and I can't remember what he said now), but that because so many people order them online for pick-up in a store, that virtually every Wii that comes into stock in a store, is held for someone who has bought it online and requested store pick-up. :?
It may be different now that it's getting closer to the holidays. But back in July when we bought ours, we called the store, found out when they came in, and hubby happened to be there that morning, luckily the shipment had already come in. (they couldn't tell us over the phone what time of day the truck would be there, it differs). So when he got there, he just went in and grabbed one. Like I said though, it might be getting harder now with holidays coming...
