I heard on the radio a few months ago that a church in Cary actually went from having 300 members to 3,000 members after they opened up a Starbucks in their church.

The radio station also discussed churches becoming too "commercial" and if this was a way to keep people awake.

Is Starbucks running the country? lol

I really can't speak. I dont drink coffee and I don't attend church. I just thought it was kind of brillant in a way. :)

Work day is almost over!!! :)

If you are looking for a great 'come as you are church' try Crosspoint Community which is meeting at the Interskate roller rink in Clayton. We have been attending there for sometime.

Both comments made me laugh out loud....perhaps we should pose this on the 'conspiracy theory' thread that is/was going.....

Freedom Chapel in Benson is a wonderful, small and quaint church. It is non-denominational and is very free in our worship. There is a peace there that I have not had in so long.....

I have never been to C3 but have talked with people who have and some who still do. I know enough from what they tell me to know that is not where I am to be. I left the previous church I was at only after I gave Freedom Chapel 3 Sundays. We all know you cannot go somewhere like that one time and expect to make a call on it. I actually knew this was the place for me at the end of the 2nd Sunday but gave the 3rd Sunday as my deciding factor. You feel at home. The pastor and his family are warm and loving. A big thing with me is that if I have questions or am trying to understand something, the pastor will stay and talk to me until I fully understand. They CARE. I can call them ANY time and they are there. The pastor is right there for all the people in their time of need whether it be a death in the family, someone in the hospital, school issues, you name it....I've been told that's how a pastor is supposed to be. And yes, that's true but you don't find that much nowadays.

I have been to alot of churches in my life, having been in the military years ago. But not since years before that when I was a preteen and teenager to about 16 and had a home church with a dearly loved pastor, have I found a place that makes me feel so complete.

There's a Starbucks (not a real one they just sell Starbucks coffee there) in the Hpoe Community Center where my BNI group meets. It's a Church/Community Center.

Just curious, what church are you involved in now (i was a member (i guess legally still a member) of C3 since there were only 50 members and i just feel it has become too big for what i need now and am checking out local churches for the past couple of months. Appreciate any help you can offer.
