C3 is a Baptist Church 3C is a great success story. Many churches are envious of their growth. I am not a member of C3 and have never attended any service at this church. There is one position that C3 takes that I do not understand. Nowhere in their web site do I see any statements of affiliation with any organization. However they are affiliated with the Raleigh Baptist Association. See: http://www.raleighbaptists.org/Home/tabid/2696/Default.aspx The Raleigh Baptist Association is affiliated with the N.C. Baptist State Convention. The Baptist State Convention of North Carolina allows their member chuches to support both the Southern Baptist Convention and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship through the Cooperative Program. So why doesn't C3 acknowledge their affiliation with these Conventions/Associations?
How do you measure a churchs' success? Most churches evaluate success by their growth, baptisms, offerings, mission work, etc. Check the numbers for C3. There are few if any churches in this area that have the growth and baptisms that C3 have. Check the numbers. How do you think churches/church councils/pastors/church associations, etc. measure their success?
not my position to judge or measure any of those entities. My belief is that someday their will be a judgment. My studies lead me to believe none of those criteria will mean much.
I can agree with that much. C3 does know how to grow. The question I hear many people asking is- How much are they diluting the message of the gospel in order to have that growth? When Jesus was on Earth, He had His poular and His npopular times. He did not call us to be popular. His message is often hard and unpopular. I have been to C3 a few times, including when they met at Cleveland ES. The messages I heard, like at many churches, were "easy" messages(the milk of the Word vs. the meat). They made me feel good about myself and the world around me. Consistent preaching like that make me stagnant in my faith. Maybe I missed the messages where the message was a little "harder" to take and would make me grow. Jesus preached mostly "hard" messages. I chose a different church because I wanted what I heard at church to help me to grow. Some people have left my church-maybe because the messages were too challenging for them. It's not always popular to preach the Word. Those of you who are C3 members-did I just miss the meatier messages? Are there messages preached on Sunday mornings that are harder to take (usually wounding our pride, coming too close to home, etc) that aren't very popular but people need to hear? Are people challenged?
Okay. I've been reading these multiple topics of back and forth bickering and at first thought I'd just read and keep my thoughts to myself. But then I thought.....when have I EVER done that? LOL So here's what I believe: The Bible says a lot of stuff, but I believe that the basic jist of everything Christ preached and what God intended were these three principals: 1- You're supposed to love God and Jesus with all your heart. 2- You're supposed to love your neighbor just as much as you love yourself 3- You're supposed to take care of the widows, the orphaned, and the poor Regardless of what denomination you are, if you believe the Christ is the son of God, then these three things pretty much apply. For me, everything else is left up to interpretation.
Very good question. Can a C3 member respond? Also does anyone know if Women have a place in leadership at C3. Example do they ordain Women Deacons?
This is from our web site Our Mission To Expose - We want to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people in the Triangle area of North Carolina. To Equip - We are dedicated to building believers into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We do this through our Connect Groups. To Experience - We seek opportunities to minister to others through our spiritual gifts and talents. Our Core Beliefs Christ Focused - The reason we do what we do is because of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross. Holy Spirit Led - As we humble ourselves before God and daily grow in our walk with Him, He will guide and direct our church. Purpose Driven - Everything we do has a purpose that has come as a result of prayer. Our desire is to give God our best and do all things with excellence. Committed to Prayer - As a church, we are committed to corporate prayer, personal prayer, and fasting. Committed to Missions - Our desire is to send people out to be missionaries locally and worldwide. We are also committed to providing resources and prayer for all of the missionaries that God leads us to support. People Focused - We know that everyone matters to God. Therefore, all people are welcome and loved at our church. Culturally Relevant - We seek to meet peoples' needs...wherever they are. At our church, the unchanging Gospel is communicated as timely, practical, and applicable. Biblical in Theology - We believe that the Bible is God's inspired word and is without error. While our theology is conservative, our methods are progressive. Our Strategy Outreach - Matthew 28:19-20, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Worship - Psalm 100, "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." Fellowship - Acts 2:42 & 46, "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer... Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts." Ministry - Isaiah 61:1-3, "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion - to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor." Leadership Reproduction - II Timothy 2:2, "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others." We partner with the Association of Related Churches (ARC) http://www.relatedchurches.com/ I really am surprised at the back lash C3 takes on this board. It is a church people. We are following God and spreading the word. Not every church is the same, not every style of worship is liked by everyone. If it that was the case there wouldn't be so many branches of Christianity. I hope that everyone finds God and peace of mind at whatever church they chose to worship at. My family and I have found that at C3
I did not say we were not, you just implied that. but yes we are. you can go to both web sites and see our church listed.
We don't have deacons per-say at C3... we do have women in leadership, in-fact id have to say 70% of people on staff are women.. In fact the pastors wifes preaches sometimes and a lot of people say shes one of the best communicators at C3
OMG We were driving yesterday and we past Polenta school and I noticed a building being built next the school, and saw the sign that it was C3. It is a very huge church. Exactly what religion is this that they need to have a huge church like that. Ro
What does their denomination have to do with the size of a church? They have a large membership and many different programs going on which need the space.
Membership? You have to pay like you would at BJs. You don't have get defensive on me. I was just asking a question. I just never saw a big church like that before. Again, what religion is it. Ro
There's not a "membership fee" but tithing is the norm. I thought you were implying something with your last question, but I guess you're just wanting to know what denomination they are... I have no idea but I'm sure someone on here can answer.
It's actually classified as a non-denominational church. It may be Baptist affiliated but that's as far as it goes.
