Delivered to one family yesterday.... Meeting another after work today..... And am making arrangements to get the goods to the other family ASAP. Just so you know, with gift cards, cash and toys, the 4042'ers that contributed, collected about $700 for these three families!!!! WOW!!
That is really awesome! I am so happy to know such wonderful people. I regret I wasn't able to participate, but my charity budget had already been spent for this Christmas. I just wanted to let you all know I think that was AWESOME!
That is great!!! $700!!! I thought I would also give an update on what we did this year for Cystic Fibrosis. We were able to get $375 (these were some donations from my work and a few other people) for my cousins to help some kids with CF out. I was really pleased and the thing of it was that we really didn't ask for donations, just mentioned at work and to a few friends what we were doing and they donated. I was able to send them a money order for the $375 and got a call from one of them yesterday letting me know that received it and all total they had collected a little over $1000 to buy toys and other things these kids needed with the money and they were going to be going to a Christmas party for these kids on Friday to present them with everything. Since this thread had to do with helping families in need, just thought I would share.
This sounds really wonderful, but let us not forget these same needs are there 364 more days a year. Keep this and the spirit of giving in your mind and heart year round. :wink:
Just an update, talked to one of the recepiants today and she could not express her appreciation enough to all of the 4042 gang who made Christmas possible for her family. Our 4042 family totally rocks
I remember the first family that we helped (JS and I played Santa) she was soooooo appreciatative. Makes my heart feel good! 8)
