To tell you the truth, I didn't even get to speak to him, and I only saw him for a second. I must say I was surprised to see a young man, it's the first time I've seen a male teacher in that school!! My mind was in 100 different places last night, and the room was packed, but I'm sure I'll get a chance to know him as the year goes on!
mommy3, my daughter has already decided to have a crush on your son. I think it is great that he wants to be a teacher and not whatever will net him the biggest income.
I think it's wonderful to have a guy working with the kids. I'm sure the kids in the class will be really excited about that. There are lots of kids that don't have male role models in their lives - so its great to see a young man aspire to the profession. Last night I stopped by to say hi to Ms. Tyler & Ms. Allen. I guess the fella standing with Ms. Tyler must have been your son. I'm sure you're proud My guess is that one day he will make a great teacher ... and a great father.
Thank you for your kind comments. I will pass it on to him. He is camping tonight in hopes of catching the biggest fish in the morning. He had a teacher in 11th grade that made a difference to him and he wants to be that kind of teacher. He's just excited and I'm so happy for him. He's a good kid/man . He knows he will have to prove himself since it is not common to see a young man in the classroom in that capacity.
