HE$$ NO, I'M NOT ASSUMING THAT. Did you not read the post - her comment was that Kryn did not prescribe her method of BC - in the event you are not sure what BC is that's birth control and if you still aren't sure what that is - it is contraception!!!! If you notice I highlighted in bold: "ALL is opposed to" and "contraception", I didn't include abortion in it so please don't assume anything on my behalf.

I am very, very sorry to hear that Dr. Dawkins is leaving the McGee's area. I can't possibly give him enough kudos. He has been my doctor for almost five years and he is hands down the best doc I have ever been to! He spends a lot of time in the room with his patients and does a very thourough exam. He never rushes and makes every patient feel that he's there just for them. My wife and daughters see Renee Wade, a Nurse Practitioner at the same office, and they absolutely love her. I hate to do it, but I guess we'll have to go to seperate offices now. As long as Dr. D is in the area, I'm sticking with him!

Does Horizon have a female doctor on staff? Do they have a web site? Do they have any days with with appointments after 5:00?

has been wonderful to me. been to mr. meehan and left unsatisfied..... (I have major medical problems -cancer), I don't need a doc to second guess my oncologist. I want the doc to check my ears and throat and do the little stuff.

dr. harris does just that. he will confer with the onc, but is very practical and down to earth. couldn't recommend a better doc.

They have a female nurse practitioner, but I don't care for her that much, for a lot of little reasons. I don't know if they have a website, and they are open until 5:30 every day, I believe. Not sure about Friday night. Their number is 359-1011 and they are on Hwy 42, but their address is Butternut Lane in Clayton. Hope this helps you!

When I was looking for a doctor, my neighbor who is an LPN and has worked at a local nursing home for 15 years, suggested anybody BUT Kryn. Same reasons, he's condescending, he won't prescribe birth control, and basically he's just not a great doctor. I was looking to change doctors from Dr. Lisa Bookert, and ended up going to Dr. Joan Meehan on both my MIL and my neighbors recommendation. Alot of times I end up seeing the FNP- Debra Roberson, and she is very good too.

My doctor is Maria Fakadej, MD, affiliated with Duke Health Center of Clayton (across Hwy 70 from the shiny diner). She is an internist. I've been very satisfied with her.

Do not ever go to this doctor. She put me on a heart/blood pressure medication (beta blocker) and I did not need to be on it! So dangerous! I switched doctors and they weened me off right away. I researched it and found out that there is such a thing called White Coats Syndrome which is exactly what happened to me. I told Dr. Fakadej so many times I only have White Coats Syndrome, which for those who don't know, that is when you get elevated heart rate and blood pressure in the doctor's office. She even had me wear a halter monitor for 24 hours and it came back fine and she still wouldn't take me off. I bought a blood pressure machine and started taking my BP and heartrate at home and it was just fine. I told her and she refused to take me off, so I switched doctors and am very happy with my new doctor, but she is in Cary. You don't mess with that kind of medication if you don't need it!

I suggest Dr. Lisa Bookert. She is located on 42 West and the telephone number is 919-553-6060. Name of practice is Clayton Family Practice. Been going to her for eleven years and if one waits too long to get in just let her know and that will not happen again. She is a GP and will refer you to specialists if needed.

Sorry you had that experience. I have been at this practice for many years and have been very satisfied.

The reason I switched was because of the waits...and it happened continually and it seemed to only get worse after she moved to that new office a few years ago. I would prefer not to sit in a waiting room that so closely resembles that of the welfare office and a bunch of snotty (insert any ethnicity you might chose here) little rugrats running around touching everything, and the parents not giving a damn or paying any attention to them.

    :?

Dr. Joan Meehans office (Clayton Medical Center at 42 & Guy Rd.) is very clean, and quiet by comparison.

Yeah, I don't like the appearance of the waiting room either. I will talk to her about it. She is not only our family doctor but a friend. I do think she needs to do something about it. I will also tell her about your wait and kids running around. Maybe she'll do something about it. Her husband has plenty of furniture in the back and they could probably make it more comfortable.

Yea, that was my father's attitude also. (And he and my uncle were pharmacists and owned/operated our family drugstore.) My father died of his first heart attack 2 weeks after his 60th birthday.

I'm hoping that you, at minimum, get an occasional Pap smear.

I suggest you check out this thread before making an appointment with Dr. Bookert. There are a lot of 4042 posters that disagree with Grace.

Dr. Shaik behind Medicap at Cleveland is absolutely wonderful. Very caring, understanding, leaves nothing to chance. I don't care too much for his office staff but I can't day enough good about him. He has called to check on family members and cared for them at the hospital.

If you decide to go to Garner, Garner Family Physicians, used to be very good. I don't like them asking for information when you are standing in front of a room full of people. No one needs to know my address and phone number and they don't mind asking you to pay on your bill in front of everyone. Absolutely no descretion. They stopped going to the hospitals ages ago and usely can only see a nurse practioner.

Dr Dawkins has indeed left the McGees office and will be at Horizon in Clayton on March 10. I am glad as the Johnston Memorial billing got on my nerves. And last time I went he was booked so I saw a female doc there and she was terrible. Very unprofessional!
