    LovingLife is Loving the POOL!!!!

    FYI....This is my first post!

I love the idea of a pool in this area. I don't live in a development with a pool, so this will be great for my family. As far as the price, at first it seems high, but when you divide it by the # of months, it's not that bad, especially if they get the dome in a few years for year round use. Plus you are buying a share in the pool and you get that one time membership fee back if you sell your membership after 5 years and partially if you sell it before 5 years. I am a stay at home mom and my husband's salary is not large. We really have to watch our money. Our plan is to use money from savings for the Membership Fee and then use our tax refund every year for the annual dues. We will also replace the money from savings with our tax refund. Dues are due on April 15 of every year, so this will work out well.

Thought this may help some of you figure out a way to become part of a great thing. Don't forget that this pool will have a swim team and being a part of a team is great for our children; it helps them work as a team, gives them great exercise, and builds confidence.

When I lived in Raleigh, I was a member of the YMCA so I had access to both indoor & outdoor pools, the classes, the workout rooms, the sauna, etc. So, that is why I was a bit sticker shocked by the price.

I also used the public pools at Optomist & Pullen Park too, which was like $2 per resident.

HOWEVER, sharing a pool that has limited memberships does have its advantages. Very intriguing, I must say, but I do have a pool in my community that it seems no one ever uses.

So I do think its awesome that Cleveland is excited about getting a pool.

If anyone knows of a pool in the Clayton/Garner/surrounding area that offers water aerobics, please let me know.
    (anyplace but Riverwood)

    Enjoy your new pool! :)

There is alot of interest out there but unless they get the $$$ what bank would want to give them $$$$ for people just being interested?

I was told it is no longer going to happen. Not enough people did the advance sign-up for it.

Sorry...it's not gonna happen (at least not now)

Only 9 of us actually paid our $$ to see this happen. We were reimbursed.

The pool is still a 'dream' but has been postponed. The Cleveland Aquatic Center committee and the owner of Sluggers are still hopeful that the pool will become a reality in the next year or two. However, people must believe in the pool and pay up front (thanks to those that did pay). As many of you know Denton's wife is very ill and his main priority right now is taking care of Julie. Please pray for Julie, Denton and their little girl, Caroline, as they face this hateful disease called cancer.
