Well they lock the gates at West. But there are parking spaces outside of the gates. If you wish to park there, youcan walk around.

  2. I live only about two blocks from where it is being built.

It would be nice if just once we could stay on topic. This thread is about the new school not where people came from.
Is there a way we can see the plans? Are they at least going to put a light on Indian Camp.

  4. i asked the same question two weeks ago and was told there would not be a traffic light put in until there was an accident.

I guess we can only hope that, that is just rumor and a light will go up.

    stop light

im only guessing that they will have to put up a light at that intersection, poor old polenta cant handle the volume of traffic that is going to be added! (im glad i head out at 6 am!)

I live in South Plantation, without a light my son will be late for school every day. I'll never get across the street.

What middle schools are most likely to feed into the new HS? Our elementary school is Polenta, but we go to Clayton Middle. So if I live around the Little creek Church Rd/Steel Bridge rd area and we're supposed to be districted to West Johnston, would we then go to the new hs? or maybe Clayton HS?

I have a 10th grader at Clayton hs (she was reassigned from West) and we like it there, but I don't want to go through all that reassignment stuff with my younger two. Sounds like the new HS will closer to me than West.

  10. I hope we don't become like Wake county and start re-assigning kids every couple of years. I feel so bad for both the parents and the kids. When they have to keep changing schools.

Sorry, I meant that we applied for a reassignment and it was approved. So now we have to apply for reassignment every year and there's always a chance that it won't go through. It wasn't a forced reassignment like in Wake County.

Could you please explain this. What is a short bus?
    Thanks

Mmmm - 'the short bus' is usually used for special needs children

What time do the high schools start in the AM? I live in South Plantation (newer part off Indina Camp), but I don't normally leave for work until 7:50 or so. Will school already have started and I won't have to worry about traffic (please, please, please!)?

I think the last bell rings at 7:40 - so you may miss most of the traffic.

Okay that is not my son. He hasn't been on a bus for years and I have never heard of a short bus. I certainly hope my son wasn't being insulted.

  17. A nice thing would be if the High Schoolers who live in Myatt Place and South Plantation could go to the new school. This way they could just walk to school. It would save some on traffic, gas, School Buses, and give them some exercise.

    I would think they are.
