I'm a meat and potatoes guy myself, but do love me some good home cooked collards with lard and fatback then drizzled with pepper vinegar.

Oh, I bet they do. We used to have neighbors that had a farm in Lumberton. They would live/work here all week then head there for the weekends. I miss those pickled peppers, watermelons, greens and good ole neighbors!

I've never eaten a "collard" in my life. Makes me shiver just to think about it. I'm originally from VA, and I don't remember anyone fixing it, ever.

I spent Saturday afternoon freezing 8 quarts. I do not like them chopped to bits like a lot of restaurants do.

Thanks everybody! I work right down the road from Mr. Lee's place so when I make a "bank run" today I'll try to stop by there.

Well yeah....your whole house does smell like 20 men have eaten chili beans, drank beer while watching a football game after you cook collards.

I agree with Harleygirl. I ain't putting nothing in my mouth that smells that bad. Yuck! I'd rather eat grass than collards. My mama cooks them things and it stinks up her whole house. Ewww!!!!

I've never cooked them, and probably never will but a little secret to know to eliminate the smell throughout the house, put 2 pecans in the pot while your cooking them and this usually does the trick on that smell.

Did you find any collards, if not call, 919-894-4004, ask for Dale
$1.00 each, put in your order and he will bring them to his work(J&J Auto Parts, in Benson) and you them pick up there, ummmm GOOD:-D
