Compact flourescent lightbulbs

    You're exactly right. The average CFL has less mercury in it than what is emitted from a coal burning power plant producing enough energy to power at least twice as many incandescant bulbs. If you replace the 10-15 incandescants with CFLs you actually end up using less mercury, not to mention it is self contained (until broken) and not floating around in the air or in the water.
