Time for a thread listing the coupon policies for Triangle stores. I'll start with the policies for doubling.

The following stores will double coupons everyday of the week in the Triangle area of NC (Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Clayton, Garner, Wake Forest)

    Harris Teeter
Harris Teeter will double the face value of a manufacturer coupon up to 99 cents. There is no minimum purchase required before they will double the coupons. HT will double up to 20 coupons per sale. Coupons with a face value of $1.00 or more do not count towards the 20 coupon total since they do not double. You can use as many $1.00 or more coupons as you like.

HT will double up to 3 multiples. For instance, if I have 5 identical coupons for Daisy Sour Cream and buy 5 of the sour creams, they will double 3 of the coupons and the other 2 will be at face value.

BOGO’s (Buy one get one free): Harris Teeter has a true BOGO policy where you must buy one at full price and get the second for free. When you have a coupon for the full price item, you can really get a great deal.

    Lowe’s Foods
Lowe’s will double the face value of a manufacturer coupon up to 60 cents. You must spend a minimum of $35 BEFORE coupons are scanned (and before tax is included) to have your coupons doubled.

Lowe's Foods will double 4 multiples per sale. The register automatically stops doubling multiples of the same coupon after the fourth coupon.

You can use as many total coupons as you would like.

BOGO’s: Lowe’s has a different BOGO policy than HT. When they advertise a product on sale BOGO, the 2 items will ring up at half price for each item. They will actually allow you to get just one and it will ring up at half price. This is great when you only want one of a product.

    Kroger
Kroger will double the face value of a manufacturer coupon up to 50 cents. There is no minimum purchase required before they will double the coupons. There are no limits on the number of multiples you can use.

Price Scan Guarantee: All three of these stores also offer a Price Scan Guarantee. If you pay the incorrect price for an item you have purchased, you can go to the customer service desk and they will give you back the total you paid for the item and you get to keep the item for free! If you bought more than one of the incorrectly priced items, you will get the difference you overpaid back for the remaining items. Don’t leave the store without checking your receipt for errors! Food Lion does not offer a price scan guarantee. They will give you back the difference you overpaid, but you will not get the product for free. If an item rins incorrectly at Wal-Mart they will give you back $3.

Internet Coupon Policies: Due to recent widespread internet coupon fraud, many grocery stores are scrutinizing any coupons printed from personal computers. Harris Teeter is currently only allowing 2 internet coupons per manufacturer and Lowe’s Foods is allowing only internet coupons that scan with no difficulty. Many Krogers will not accept any internet coupons at all.

As a general rule, if you receive a printable coupon via e-mail from an individual (not a manufacturer) or see a coupon on an internet chat room that you did not print directly from a manufacturer’s or other legit site, there is a good chance that it is fraudulent. Most internet coupons for FREE product are not legit. Usually high dollar coupons like $5 off any Tide are also fraudulent. When a printable coupon does not expire for many months ahead (6 months to a year), it is often illegally created, as well. When using internet coupons stick to coupons you print directly from manufacturer’s websites or those found at sites such as www.smartsource.com and www.coupons.com.

Pulled from my post on the "big" thread....

    Kerr Drug:
    - For buy-one-get-one-free offers, each item is half price, so you can just buy one.
    - They had sign in the store that said they only accept manufacturer coupons up to $1. I don't know if it was just that store (corner of Lake Wheeler Rd and Tryon Rd), or if it's all stores.

    Eckerds:
    - If you buy more than one of an item, you can still only use one coupon. The clerk said "one coupon per purchase", not one coupon per item purchased. Now maybe this was because it was a buy-one-get-one-free item, but the clerk said only one of each coupon can be used, no matter how many you buy...

How do you know the price scanned is an error when there are no price stickers on the items?
