    Oh no, it's not that.

They block certain tools in IE, and have our settings mandated so that we can't change them. So I literally can not print them out.

Maybe I can go by my dad's and print a few off....

I guess it depends on your family. We have 6 in our household. 5 males so we go through a lot of food. They are not too picky so I use the coupons/sales and stock up because they will eventually eat it. If they don't, I can always donate it to food drives.

I guess I should elaborate... I mean I buy in bulk to save and don't really save. I buy the coupon item and then find it in off brand for cheaper which really crosses out the coupon. And yes  I am bad for going to the store and seeing something that I want to try and then there ya go...I have blown it. How I keep my grocery bill down... I make a list of everything I need, and if it isn't on the list I don't get. I just have such a freakin long list, I have tricked myself here too. I write things as I go thru the store :D and say.... hey it's on the list! 8)

And I need to see what the deal is...I really don't have time to run to Garner to find a Kroger... I really only have access to a Food Lion. But if I could justify it with that much savings... I would be willing to make time! I just wanna know the whole game so I can get in the playing.

BAN FOOD LION!!! Don't let me see you in there!!!! :x
Go to Lowes Foods the double coupons every day!!! I go to the one on 70 in Clayton for my savings or if I'm in Garner there's a Lowes Foods on Timber.

NO, Don't go to food lion. I only get my pepsi there since it is always cheapest.

Sunday paper clip the ads you will use and maybe even some that you think you won't use. (I have used some that I never have before just because I could get it for free, think Christmas)

    Use these websites

Go to Lowes Foods, the double up to 60 cents everyday and on special days like this weekend they triple coupons up to 99 cents.
Harris Teeter does this too. But everyday the double up to 99 cents.
I hit Kroger on the 10 for $10. You don't have to buy 10 but the items are marked $1 each. With a coupon and they double up to 50 cents. You could get it free.

Example: Today, I went to Lowes bought cereal Name brand. I had a 70 cent coupon, Triple it and that is 2.10 off. The cereal happened to be an unadvertised sale for 2.69. So I paid 59 cents for that box of cereal and I purchase 3!

Contact the companies you buy from regularly and ask for coupons.

    I hope that helped.

Hey Mamax, was that cereal the Yogurt Cheerios or the PB Cookie Crisp, I have both of those coupons and I was curious as to how high the cereal would be, lol.

Great to see you as well, Harley! :D Enjoy the coupons!

One of the big reasons you did not save more is because your coupons were not high value coupons. Your regular coupons totaled $7 which is an average of 35 cents per coupon is you used 20 coupons. Tripled that is only $1.05 savings per coupon. Many of my coupons were 75 cents, saving me up to $2.25 off an item.

If you purchased high priced items with low value coupons, you won't save a huge amount, even when they are tripled. An example would be buying the big box of Splenda for around $7 and using a 25 cent coupon that gets tripled. Yes, you saved 75 cents, but on a $7 item, it doesn't make much of a dent in the bill. Instead, I would buy the smaller package and use the coupon to keep my cost per ounce down.

I try to keep a running tab in my head as I shop so I know exactly how much I have in my cart after coupons. That way I know just what to expect when I get to the register.

Also remember that you spent $4 on milk and the money you spent on the beef. Those numbers add up fast. Had you purchased your milk at Walgreens (where I think you said you were headed after Lowe's) you would have saved $1.

Then again, you did save $19 which is better than nothing!

    Great job Shell and mamax3!

My subtotal before coupons for this mornings shop was: $66.43
After coupons were scanned I paid them: $18.47
    Savings: 72%

If I had not purchased sushi (my daughter and I split it for lunch :D ) and $3.49 Lipton tea for hubby (he is brand loyal on tea :( ) it would have been much less).

Jennifer, I purchased the Total Raisin Bran for 40 cents per box. On sale for $2.50 and I had coupons for 70 cents off one! :D The yogurt cheerios were not on sale and not as good a buy.

I can't do that
I'm either on the phone or flipping thru coupons to see what else I can save money on.

JS now has a boat load of coupons I cut out when I got home from seeing you at the store FMO2. Thanks again!

Does anyone know if at Lowe's Foods your coupons will automatically triple if you use the self checkout?

    shell77 Well-Known Member

Yes it does. When I went this morning, it doubles them as you scan them, and then does the triple after you hit the continue button.

I got the yogurt Cherioes. I think they were $3.39 and $1.29 a box after the coupon. You can't buy generic for that price.

I looked at the PB Cookie Crisp and think that was $3.69 or $3.89 a box.

Wow, ncmom! My second trip was not as successful as the first. I think I figured it out though. I had 75 cent coupons but they were for 2 items.
