patience... shouldn't be sitting at a bar for 10 minutes with no one having asked what I would like to drink or a menu. Nor, should it be my having to ask 4 people at the bar for the current bartenders name so that I can yell it to get his attention to get said beer.

    Service/Food DraftHouse

We went a couple of weeks ago during the week and they were fairly busy, service was very good and the food was very good. Went back the following Sunday about mid noon and there was only three or four tables occupied. Our orders were places and I ordered a salad to be brought out before I got my main course but ended up getting it along with with my main course only to realize that the main course wasn't even luke warm and the gravy that accompanied my beef tips and rice had already conjelled, my wifes pasta was cold to the touch. I called the waitress over and she took our meals back and the manager/owner brought it back out. It was hot this time but it did not have any flavor(one of the result you get when you warm food up in the microwave). We were very disappointed this time out but we will return, but only to get their burgers/sandwichs, I don't think I will go for their dinners anymore. I should also mention that my my wife pointed out a safety concern in the booth we were sitting in and the manager acknowledged it. A wall receptacle was at the same level as the seating, which is an enticement for some child sitting on the inside playing with his/her utensils to shove it into the receptacle. I think this restaurant has a good chance to make it and will continue going to it.

    Re: Service/Food DraftHouse

i noticed the wall receptacle the one time we sat at a booth, and wondered myself why would a wall receptacle need to be above the table and visible instead of below it? were they thinking laptop uses who need to plug in? I wouldn't think there to be that many to need an eyesore/safety concern (as you pointed out) in every booth.

I have never had any issues with the service. I am always greeted with a smiling face (THANK GOODNESS) and if time allows....some chit chat. I go in there and do my best to treat the bartenders with respect. This is KEY!! If you have never bartended, let me tell ya.....it's a hard job and can get crazy at times. The Draft House is one place where I understand when they are busy and I recognize that I may not get my drink at that very moment, as they are also serving others. Just remember that the bartenders and servers are employees of the establishment and although you don't agree with the methods they use (no assigned tables, not enough help behind the bar or any other issues mentioned) - just try not to take it out on the bartenders and servers. Oh - and as any band will say at a bar, "Don't forget to take care of your bartenders and servers tonight"!! They do put food on their tables with the tips that we leave.

Everyone always has something to B____ about. Drafthouse is doing just fine. Quit complaining. That's my opinion.

Want them to just stand by your table so you can snap your fingers and they are right there?
come onnnnnnnnnnn, yall are complaining about stupid stuff.

Hey, it works for me ;) - Not ---> BY ANY MEANS <--- recommended for others though!!! Okay, it's an inside joke that only one person that works there will get but it's ironic that it was mentioned. You are the best man!!

Alright, I have found something BAD about the CDH. It's very upsetting to me and I can't belive it! It may prevent me from going there on certain nights......they aren't a Canes Cool Bar!

Yep! Came right from the Cane's themselves! Ok, well not the Canes, but their website! LOL BUT as long as the show the games, that works for me. BUT it would be so cool if they became a Canes Cool Bar! Oh the fun we would have! lol

  11. Hi, I'm new, and a huge Cane"s fan. What does "Canes Cool Bar" mean?

Not a drinker myself, so I did not pay real close attention, but if I remember right there are certain sponcer bars that hold special activities during away games and I believe the cheerleaders show up.

By the way I would like to offcially welcome you and we can always use another Canes fan.

    Welcome Effie!

Here is a little about a Canes Cool Bar:
Call your fellow Caniacs and make plans now to be at the Brier Creek Carolina Ale House for the first of 10 Canes Cool Bars events to be held across the Triangle this season! Stormy will be in the house, as well as members of the BCBSNC Storm Squad! Don't miss out on the fun when the team is not at home - chill out at COOL BARS! Each tour stop features a live game broadcast of the evening's game, cool games and contests, a visit from Stormy, raffle prizes, a silent auction and much more. It's the perfect opportunity to get together with other Caniacs when the Canes are on the road!

Hught, you don't have to drink to go to a bar do you? If so, then I'm doing it all wrong! LOL Seriously though, if I have other people I'm going with, I don't have to drink, I just enjoy the company and the game. :)

The Storm Squad.....I think they are usually in the stands during the game, but I'm not positive. :)

Weird, I have been to lots of games in the past and NEVER saw one cheerleader. I should go dust off my Go-Go boots.

    You go girl!
I have not been to a game yet, so maybe they only show the Storm Squad on tv. LOL

I've been and seen them... usually they are on the landings in the corners of the arena stairways, between periods they are on the ice and shooting t-shirts. I don't know I'd call them cheerleaders, they don't actually get on the ice and do any kind of a show between periods that I know of.

Nope.....they are in the stands during the game and in-between periods they are on the ice helpping do the little contests before the zamboni comes around to clean the ice. And they are usually roaming around handing out stuff and what not before the game.

You can find out more here

And technically they are not cheerleaders, they are a dance team.

BTW....unless I am badly mistaken the Canes were the first team to actually have a real dance team in the NHL, and now they all have them.

Oh!! I've seen them, then. Thought they were groupies, or hockey's equivalent to bat boys. Probably family members?
