My problem with this thing is 3 fold. First, many people who will be getting the "rebates" DON"T PAY TAXES anyway. If you make at least $3000/yr you get a refund. Where does the money for that come from? Our wallets! Second, the gov't is going to borrow 150 billion from the Chinese to pay for this thing. The money will then get spent on Chinese goods. So who is actually getting the stimulus here? Third, gov't spending NEVER stimulates the economy. Econ 101! If they really wanted to stimulate the economy they would cut spending and reduce the overall tax burden on citizens. This is nothing more than election year 3 card monty, it's a rip off.
