Not a big bridge at all. Don't worry, it's also not really high and it's actually beautiful to look down on the intracoastal waterway from it.

Luvgoose called that one right. It's not a big dealio. If you've ever takent eh Morehead City to Radio Island bridge going to Beaufort, the MHC bridge is bigger. I'd say it's slightly longer, but less elevated than the MHC to AB bridge.

I am SO ****ED!!! I have learned my lesson about Craigslist because the lady who was renting the house to my family decided to rent it out from under me to someone who wanted it for the whole week!! (We emailed her and asked if she did not rent it for the week, could we rent it for Wed-Sun?) She emailed me back LATER and said since she had not rented it, she would rent it to me for the time I asked. I knew something was odd when I asked her how to pay, etc. and she told me to sent her a check and she would tell me where the key was. Weird! So, I told her I would meet her somewhere so she could give me a written receipt (so we both would have some protection) and I would give her the check. I did not hear back from her all day after that and then she emails me to tell me that her "husband" rented it to someone who BROUGHT them a check because he thought we were going THIS week! So....birthday trip ruined~ And now, no time to find something last minute.

How many of you were going? You could do a google search "rental houses emerald isle nc" and call some of the rental agencies. Maybe they can hook you up with something.

Just the 3 of us, myself, DS and DH. I am so frustrated I don't even know if I want to bother. This was $150/night with cleaning, linens, etc included. Guess it's a "if it seems too good to be true......." situation.

    That stinks...

I have a friend who has a condo on Carolina Beach that she rents 'cheaper' to friends.... let me know if are interested and I will ask her. Not the same I know....

    Still very unfair.

Thanks LJK, that is so sweet!! I have kind of resigned myself to staying home and planning ahead for another cruise instead. We just recently got a pool membership so that will be an OK substitute but I really was looking forward to going to EI since it would be like a new experience. Thanks for thinking of me~

you could also check www.vrbo.com - my SIL got a great last minute deal the other week, a 4 bdrm ocean front house for like $1000 for the week at Holden beach. They said it was an awesome house!

I may be too late, but Flippers is a wonderful place for lunch, Buschwackers is right on the beach and has a great view of the beach and pier, although I recommend the Fresh Fish, it is indeed that. Young is the bartender and he makes a mean buschwacker.
