    Here is a funny way to look at it. Look at all the #1 songs on your birthday from the day you were born until the latest year listed. It may tell you when you lost touch with pop music.

    I was born in 1964. I had heard or knew all the #1 songs since 1964 on my birthday except 1971, until 1995. Then the only one I knew was Lady Marmalade (sp?). So i lost touch with pop music in 1995, or when I was 31.

    That is probably about right for most average people.
