Just got a little update from my brother. The little boy is in critical condition and that my nieces class was going to take donations for the family, everything from food, gift cards, cash, etc. I will try to talk to him this weekend and get more details. He called me while I was on my way home from the football game, that Clayton lost again so didn't get to write all the details down. If anyone wants to donate to help this family, I am sure you can take things to West Clayton Elementary School and tell them what it is for. Everyone that we have talked to about agree that the man that was driving the truck probably never saw the little boy until it was too late. Things can happen in just a split second.....
I was stopped exactly there, earlier in the day, in my truck waiting on the bus dropping off kids at the trailer park. I saw the church having the festival. Some lady, to walk from the trailer park to the festival, had to push her baby in a stroller down 42 to get across. Its a bad situation there. Busy highway. Lots of kids. Church. Trailer park. School. Bank. 70. All within a 1/4 mile.
Quincy8Boy posted I saw at least 30 kids get off the bus. I think I saw one white kid. Interesting. why is that interesting???
What do you find interesting about only one white kid getting off the bus and 30 blacks/latino's (what?) I assume?
My sources say the child in question was not white. I am not sure why that would be an issue as well. We can only pray for everyone in this case and leave it in God's hands
Maybe because blacks/latinos are usually the minority, so it does appear *weird* to see it reversed? I dunno. I don't think Quincy meant anything by it. Please don't stretch too far. You might hurt yourself.
But think about all the exercise people get from jumping to conclusions about what was meant or implied. Craig
A memo from WCES in my son's back today: Not really an update... just passing on info for those that don't have their heads up their arse. LOVE OFFERING One of our kindergartn children, Colby Baker, was hit by a car on Halloween night while trick-or-treating. He is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit a Wake Med with a fractured skull, two broken legs, and a broken arm. There are four other children in the family including a student who is in the 4th grade at West Clayton. We would like to take up a love offering throughout the school to help the family with food, gas and medical expenses. We will accept cash, gift certificates or even food. Anything you can donate will be a BIG help to this family. Please send your offering in by November 7th so we can take this offering to the family as soon as possible. Jeanne Rogers Counselor
I found out that this is the same note that was in my niece's bookbag yesterday. Like I said, the little boy is in her kindergarten class and she is still shook up over seeing him get hit. She keeps asking to talk to him.
I am not going to stretch it but what does that have to do with anything? I am trying to understand where that comment is coming from.
Does anybody have an update on this little boy? I have two little boys myself and this is just heart wrenching. TIA, Sharon
