Writing that one down. I love Olives. But the company I would be with wouldn't like me having them!!!
ME TOO! My husband and kids look at me like I'm eating poop. They just stare at me with this awful look on their faces!
Maybe it's from an older generation of soldiers, but we called them Beans and baby d icks..and we had them in C rations, as well. I prrferred the old B-3 unit of C's..pears and juice, and the small can of ham and eggs That way, I had a meat byproduct, fruit, and juice to wash it down. I could always trade to get those. Even had the C's that had cigarettes in them. Those I sold to the nocotine fitters..lol
perhaps the numerous jolts from PLFs caused some brain short circuitry in us paratroopers... Beef Stew wannabe stuff was called Beef and shrapnel...
I like pickled beets!!!! It just has been forever since i had them. My mom use to put beets and onions together. Then pickle them.
SS, re: Beans and baby d icks.... that's the way I refer to them out loud in the store. C6 doesn't even ask in we need them, she just gets a can and hopes I won't ask. Probably got 6 cans of them in cupboard, but she's afraid to call the bluff.. H6
foods My favorite food that I hate to admit is MCRIB Sandwiches! Yes, I know they are made from mystery meat, but I still love them!! YUM!
*fried Oreo *fried red tomatoes (nope, not green!) *fried Smelts (unfortunately, those kind of fish is now banned)
Ohhhhhh, Cream Cheese and Green Olive Sandwiches w/ pimento, of course, on fresh Poppy Seed Kaiser Rolls (like the ones at Big Steves) - that is Heaven!
1. Braunschweiger 2. Peanut butter and cereal sandwiches 3. Pickled eggs (must be purple) As a child I used to eat peanut butter and ketchup sandwiches. I don't anymore, but I LOVE dipping a peanut butter sandwich in some tomato soup Now my dad eats peanut butter, pickle, and mayo sandwiches. Mom on the other hand likes peanut butter and sweet pickles.
