Some one said they got a cute one on sale for $20 at petsmart. The bigger the better...

The older group has their eyes open and I have been trying to hold them everyday. Mom still runs and tries to bite me!

LJK - it helps to wear gloves for awhile when handling Mom! That's how I broke mine of biting, my girls (Laverne and Shirley)... I just let them bite and bite til they realized they werent getting anywhere (I was wearing gloves), and I wasnt threatening them or hurting them. They never bit me again.

This thread brings back memories, LOL! The first pet DH and I ever got was a hamster, we had to name him Houdini because he could get out of his cage at will. The little sucker cost me the deposit on our apartment because he chewed up some carpet one night. It was the berber type and when he pulled that loose string, a whole lot of it came up! We ended up having to put books on top of the cage to keep him in it! We didn't think he would ever die, he was brown when we got him, he was so old when he died all his fur had turned grey!

Okay y'all, I'm gonna warn you. If these are dwarf Siberian hamsters [IMG] [IMG]they will bite the pure tee snot out of you if you aren't careful! They are very cute, however ours always bit. By all means, please take some off of L's hands though! They're cute to keep as pets, just watch the fingers (speaking from experience here - we had two, Runt & Nibble, that looked just like the two in the pictures.) :)
