I don't see us going back anytime soon... As for calling ahead, it was a Tuesday night at 6:00, and it was a last minute decision. The problem wasn't that they were busy, they weren't at all. We could see into the dining room, 1/2 the tables were empty. The problem was just that they REFUSED to let us sit at a big table. We had done it there before, and it was never a problem. The few times before we'd been there the service wasn't that great, but the food's always been good and that's why we went there. But to have someone refuse to seat you at a table, or even try to be accommodating, that's just wrong! I'm sure I'll be back someday, but it won't be for a long time.
I tend to not give restaurants another chance - unless they hooked me up with some free coupons the first time they hosed me. Nothing is more irritating than paying 10-15 dollars for a meal and having it S.U.C.K. I have no opinion on this particular establishment. We ate there once, it was OK - nothing to write home about.
Geez...it's only a business that wants to help out with the schools. Schools can use all the help they can get. Sorry you feel this way.....:-(
I am old-fashioned when it comes to stuff like this. How can the school support programs such as Just Say No, SADD, and DARE when they have beer money in their budget?
So if they were the financial backers for your son's sport team, you wouldn't let him play, because of the word 'draft' in their name?
It's not beer money. They help with food for events....In now way, shape or form is alcohol, the selling of or the profits of alcohol included in any type of help they give. They do have a great sit down family restaurant on one side that is very child friendly. I think it's just they way you are going to view it. I can appreciate and respect your old fashion opinion. I just think it's great they want to help the schools...nothing more nothing less.
Ditto that :shock: It's so hard for local sports teams to get good sponsorships these days. I applaud any business that wants to help the kids in their communities.
No, I mean the school. Although I see where it would look good for the bar to be supportive of programs, but the fact that the school got the money from bars, when the kids are obviously not old enough to drink... I dunno, just seems kind off to me. Kind of like all the Obesity talk in the news, and kids missing out on PE due to space/time/amount of students - but look, school cafeteria is making money off of vending machines, pizza, twinkies...
not real sure how just saying 'wow' constitutes the mini-lecture....but I guess I don't have to....:-D FWIW...I was gonna say 'you gotta be shi**in me', but I refrained.
I appluad them too, but my son would not play for a team that advertised for a bar on the back of their shirt. How 'bout if the Mustang Ranch showed up and wanted to sponsor. Would you be supportive of your child playing for that team, and wearing that shirt?
It's a restaurant, plain and simple....there are lots of 'sponsors' to lots of charities, schools, sports teams, homeless shelters, etc.that sell alcohol. That is all. no prizes necessary.
Yeah, I'm just talking. It's not like a big cause I am going to take on. But, I can make my own stances in my own life - right? Hey speaking of Mr Buttermaker - remember their sponsor? Chico's Bail Bonds? LMAO!
