Cleo - love ya, but you can spin it anyway you want. Not trying to argue about what if's....just stating that local businesses that help kids in the area should be applauded. Leave it be that you and I disagree....move on.
Yeah, they just don't have Draft House in the name, and on the backs of kid's shirts. I just think it is innappropriate, for MY child. Remember - this is all hypothetical.
Understand....I wasn't either... I just wanted to post that I had great service there last night and you see where that lead us?
I'm not spinning anything. If advertising alcohol on the back of a child's shirt is not a big deal to you, but is to me - I guess guess I have to up the ante and find something that might be a bigger deal to you. Would YOU let YOUR child wear a "Mustang Ranch" jersey?
I agree, I took my own two young daughters there. That honey-mus-My Friend dip for the chicken was delish.
This website is so funny...I knew when I started this thread there would be a lot of opinions, but I had no idea it would turn into all this! I always find it so amusing how one subject can always lead to something so completely different, it sure is fun to watch!! :-D
You must not realize how hard it is to get sponsors for the kids teams these days as has been pointed out. What about the kid who has C3 as his sponsor and a parent is so against what they are doing these days that they complain. They have had sponsors from Monkey Ink before. Well myself i am dead set against tattoo's so do i complain about that? Hey im not going to let my son play on a team sponsored by any of these lawn care services because they might employ illegals. The list could go on and on. Course its your right to not want a particular sponsor on the back of your childs shirt. Shortly, that wont be a problem anymore.
Only those that are close to the situations know the REAL story. School and sports wise....So we can just carry on and do our best for the kids.
Hey Grinder - since we're so off subject here - my hubby's coaching again in spring, any idea when he'll be hearing from GCAA on teams, practices, etc...
I don't believe in just complaining, I believe in acting. If you have a stance, you should stand behind it. I absolutely support an Athiest parent not wanting their child to play on a team that is sponsored by a church. What is wrong with that? I would agree with you not wanting your child to play on a team sponsored by a Lawn Care company if you felt they employed illegals - it's almost like activism. Bravo!! And tatoos, again - good for you sticking to your guns. Now I don't know if I would go so far as to punish my child for the choice of sponsors, but I might request a Team move, I might "fix" his shirt, or even have him wear a shirt from a previous year if the color is the same. The problem I would really have would be my underage child wearing a shirt that had "Draft House" on it. Again, for me and my child - it is just not appropriate.
