Thank You to Everyone Who has helped my family My family and I would like to thank the countless number of people who have posted on this forum about the fire which destroyed our home on Oct 14. I would first like to extend my thank you to the Cleveland Fire Dept, 50-210 FD, and Clayton Fire Dept. for trying to save our home. Also,a big thank you to Sonny Johnson and his family for putting my family into housing before the fire was out. There has been such an outpouring of support and caring and all of the donations we have received. We are still in the long process of trying to rebuild our lives and this will take a long time. I wish that I could name you all individually and thank you all, but there has been so many people that a collective thank you is all we can offer. The Little Stepping Stones Daycare and staff has been awesome in taking up a collection and gathering donations, as has the Entire C3 Church and the Cleveland Community. God Bless You All for all of your prayers and support. If I could post a list of things that my family could still use that would help us out with trying to get settled in this small House. I am not trying to ask for too much, but there is still so much we could use that we do not have. The list is as follows: Plastic Storage Bins for Storage (Under the bed) and some large Bins Entertainment Center Computer Desk Dressers for Main Bedroom Night Tables (2) Kitchen Storage Hutch/ Bakers Rack Gift Cards are needed for all the small items that donations do not cover. Wal- Mart, Target. Over the Range Microwave (White) We are all set with clothing donations. Again, Thank You to Everyone who has already come forward to help out my family. We are forever grateful for all of your support and prayers. Thomas and Delia Monaco
I just read this thread. I am so sorry for you and your family, but glad everyone is okay. Where should we drop/mail the gift cards? Do you want any DVD movies? God Bless you and your family!
Reply to all If you could, please send any donations to: Thomas Monaco 177 Breland Drive Clayton, N.C. 27520 Or you can call us directly @ 919-938-0094 Thanks, Tom
Shoot, I forgot about the clothes hangers! Are you okay on those now or do I still need to gather some up?
Hangers Hi, We are ok on hangers. Storage Bins are a Big Issue However. We have extremely small closets and they are almost full and Plastic Storage Bins would go a LONG way to help us organize the unorganized items (especially clothes).
Donation Items Needed I am so sorry but my wife just added one more item to our needs list. We need Bookcases also. Sorry I missed this item, on the list.
I have an old pine wardrobe that was converted into an entertainment center. Do you have an email address? I'll send pictures of it to you.
I have some end tables we use to use in the living room. Send me your email and I will send a pic of them so you can see what they look like. They may be too big. OOPS.... just saw that its on the post above. Sending.......
Returned to home today-- Nothing Left Well against my wife's wishes,I returned over to the burned out home to try to salvage anything:cry: I managed to climb up into the house and poked around for anything recognizable. Not much to find. Too much rubble to try to sift through. I wish that Sonny would knock down the house. It is very hard to drive by and see what's left. I was hoping to maybe find some pics or some of my wife's jewelry. She is still taking this very hard and I've resigned myself to the fact that we just have to go on. Does anyone out here know of any type of support group I could maybe get my wife to join to help her? Any suggestions ????
Have you checked with a womans group at your church? We have a great study going around now but we are in week 5 - but it is never too late to learn more about it! We meet once a week and it is called "Lord change my attitude" by James MacDonald I will pray for you and your wife! Philippians 4 : 6-8 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
