Mmm shocked that you would feel as such.
I guess to some this would be true.

Hugh Hefner promoted sex and naked women. He does not deserve to be mentioned and certainly is not an AMERICAN ICON!!!! He's dead and does not need to be praised as an ICON, except to promote filth.

You always want to tout treatment and respect of women. Can you add 1+1.
    Exploitation and womanizing.

The women who worked for Hugh were not forced. While I never understood why they would do this type of job I always understood that they were not forced.

I hope this satisfies your curiosity of why I posted this Thread. He was a pioneer

Stories by many of the leading modern authors were published in Playboy including Kurt Vonnegut, Ray Bradbury, Norman Mailer, Margaret Atwood, Ian Fleming, Roald Dahl, and Joseph Heller.

Playboy was the magazine that got the last in-depth interview with John Lennon, just days before he was killed. An absolutely fascinating exchange, and even though it wasn't meant to be "Lennon's Last Word", that interview pretty much stands as Lennon's final thoughts and opinions. For that interview alone, they earned their journalistic credentials.

That is your opinion. For my father's generation and others it was an awakening. While I believe people should see beyond the outside of others I, also, realize that in doing what he did he brought sex out from behind the shadows and wanted people to enjoy it all the time. I don't condone all he did, but he was a pioneer
