I am done with Premier Video

    i like blockbuster. I pay $10.69/month ( online total access)and usually watch 8-10 a movies for that price. I don't see how netflix can compete with what blocbuster offers now.

    Looks like that is BB "Unlimited 1 @ a time" rental plan? I'd be hard pressed to get 8 movies a month out of that... without going out of my way to return at the store instead of mailing back. You figure a day or two in transit each way, and if you watched them as soon as they arrived and put them back in the mail the next day. It'd be hard to get 2 a week, every week in. Netflix is the same price for the same plan, $9.99. They don't beat it, but they are comparable.

    Their "2@ A time Unlimited" plan is the same price as Netflix.. $14.99. That does compare to me.. DH and I can both get a movie we want and always have one in hand and one on the way. Still probably not more than 8 per month, but I don't have to wait for a movie since I just offset when they are sent off.

    Just a matter of preference I guess... ;)

    yeah, thats the plan i have...the best advantage being, once i get my movie in the mail, i watch it, exchange it at locall bb for another one, plus my next movie gets shipped that same day...no more "mail time" waiting for a movie to be returned. Almost makes me watch more movies than i normally would,,,,just to get more for the money..:)

    Well, I received a nice PM from the owner of Premier Video. I think that is very unusual as far as customer service goes and perhaps I will give them another go.

    I have tried netflix at least 3 different times and have to say that the quality of the DVD's are badly lacking. It is VERY frustrating to get movie after movie that skips etc and halfway thru you get so tired of it you end up having to send it back without finishing it. I LOVE the idea of netflix but won't be trying it again.

    Yeh, I thought that was really decent and showed an effort to fix the problem. I'd try him again too.

    I can't say I've gotten a bad cd yet from them... lucky I guess. I'll stick with them until any issues arrive that are too frustrating for me to deal with.

    I've had Netflix for 3 years and have only had one disc that skipped. You may want to clean the lens on your dvd player.

    We have that problem when we rent dvd's from Premiers Video.

    I'm sorry that so many of you are upset with Premiere Video. I have been going there for two years and not one time did I have any problems. They have always been very nice and polite everytime I go in. They will even give me a call to let me no if a movie comes in that I'm waiting to see. And I'm very happy with there sevice.

    Me too. I've never had a problem with them. I just wish they would have a "free day" to forgive all past due fees like the library does.

    Well after speaking with David the owner, Premiers has earned my business back. He was very apologetic and had already taken action to correct the problems I spoke about. IMO it means alot when a business owner steps up to make things right. I also received a very nice letter in the mail from him. I am extremely pleased with the way things worked out and will definitely give them another try. I urge anyone else who has had a similar experience to try them again. I would much rather support a local business rather a national company. Thanks again for proving that customer service is still number 1!!

    hmm...i'm very sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with premieres video. I personally know most of the employee's and they do try to do their job. some are young yes, but for the most part i'm sure they don't intentionally give bad customer service.

    however i agree with some of the previous replies. Most places will go out of their way to correct a problem, but you do have to let them know. just complaining on here will never fix the problem.

    i beg to differ, complaining on here got the attention of the Manager. Also posting on the local board advises others in the same area of what businesses to frequent and which ones to not. Obviously a lot of the business owners in this area do pay attention as to what is said on this board as has been proven quite often in the past.

    In this case i believe the postings have probably helped Premeir's business due to the fact the manager stepped up so some who would not usually frequent the business may now give it a try.

    I also made it obvious when I was at the store that I was unhappy with the service, but as I said earlier, the employee acted like she could have completly cared less that I was there, let alone what I thought. I am glad to know Premiere's is locally owned, I assumed it was a chain.

    another customer went and told owner what they saw on here. they did your work :lol: but i'm just teasing don't take it personal

    ::side note:: i believe the girl at question has left that store, haven't seen her in two weeks.

    nah... just I noticed in other threads you know, or knew, some one somewhere...

    I think my Mom's best friend knows just about every one in JC... I believe that everything I didn't get caught doing, my Mom's friend already knew about and just never mentioned it to her...

    (trynna be funny, I was going to say - your name isn't xxxxxx is it? - but chances are you know her too - really. So.. I'll just stay quiet - and outta trouble! :lol:
