Well....I have a little inside stuff. I just started working with a company that TWC is one that they represent (among others). I had to go through a bit of training on this stuff for a few days. I also have a few notes I pulled the info from.

Yeah i know, did that for the past 4 years but every year the offer has gotten less and less and basically now i just had to cut the extras like HBO and Showtime to be able to keep it within our budget. DS is a computer major with 3 different computers running in his room alone so until he graduates in a year i really have no choice but keep the TW for the internet but i am checking out DirectTV for our TV choices to see what my options might be. Anyone know if you can buy your own DVR and use it with TW or do you have to use the one they provide?

Please explain that. Also, am i understanding correctly that you no longer have TW for anything but that DTV uses TWC cable for your internet??? Sorry Ken but you know me, computer challenged:lol:

Ok, gotcha but as for DS building anything or explaining anything right now that is laughable, the kid is working a full-time job and going to school full-time, finding a moment to get him to explain anything just doesn't happen too often:lol: But one question you did not answer, are you still having to pay TWC for anything or is it all through DTV?

Cool, thanks for clarifying, that is what i thought and considering how close you are to my house i am safe in assuming TWC is our only option also for internet and my Vonage but i will continue to check into DTV, they have sent me several great offers lately since i once used them for several years before switching to TWC but in those days i believe you have to have a home phone line but i have been led to understand that the conventional land line is no longer required. As usual Ken, you are great at answering this internet baby's questions:-D

I am still annoyed with embarq -
They came in with no cell service. i had sprint cell and home and got a disount. Now they have cell and because of my contract I still get gat a lower rate unles si switch to embarq. They stink - they can't even keep my home phone running and I am going to trust them with a cell??!!!

And all you altel folks - I am sick and tired of listening to a thousand clicks before it connects!!!! fix that too~!!!

I have had mine for $39.99 (tv) and $29.99 (internet) for over 3 years. I have basic digital cable (no premium channels and one box) and the standard Roadrunner. I am about the bug them again and lock in my price with a free DVR and one more box. Already talked to them and it is in motion. Just gotta know which arm to twist, I guess.
