If your student took Pre-algebra

    What's the big deal about having to "double up" in high school? It's taking two math classes in two totally different semesters, not at the same time. My kids did it/are doing it because when they went through, taking geometry in 8th grade was not an option. Personally, I prefer my kids take the academic (AP/Honors) classes over most of the electives offered in high school. Go ahead and double up sophomore year and get back on track, or freshman year if they are advanced. Sucks that they changed things around on your kids, but remember that your reaction is what will define your experience going forward. Move on. Your kids will appreciate knowing that you have confidence they can handle it.
