  1. I read that too, but I just thought the site I found was a good one show comparisons. If it's inaccurate, I apologize.

And thank God (whichever one you claim) that we live in a country where all views can openly be expressed.

Certainly so. When we have a government that begins suppressing our religious rights, we'll be in trouble for sure. I worry that we are heading for such a period of time. Hopefully, I'm wrong. The problem arises in determining what is hate-filled speech and what is intelligent and peaceful expression of disagreement and/or debate.

Now I, for one, wouldn't worry about having a Kingdom Hall in my backyard. Afterall, after one or two visits, they'll likely get the message. Honestly, who really is bombarded by regular JW visits? I think it tends to be a bit overstated. Same with mormons.

Please tell me you have proof of this and are not just slandering someone based on your gut. If you or anyone else can show me proof that what she was offering was fraudulent then I will happily accept it. Otherwise, I'm not sure it's a good idea to simply state as fact that something is fraudulent when you have no idea other than your own feeling and that of some others.

How to get rid of a JW.

Open the door and say, "Wow, I'm so glad you decided to stop by. I really need to speak with a Christian right now. I just sacrificed a live chicken as a sacrament. Give me a minute to clean up the blood and body parts in the tub and I'll be right back." Close the door.

Tell you what. Why don't you give some "proof" that it was a real offer other than your gut and one other. Mmmmm K????

I can't other than I know legal assistants at this very moment who make that much money (what she was offering) so if that is what someone thinks is far fetched it's not. Otherwise, I have no proof whatsoever so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt. I just think it's worse to call someone a fraud on a public discussion board with no proof than it is to give them the benefit of the doubt with no proof.

Well, perhaps you are unaware that some who called her on it are also in the legal field and have serious doubts about it. All I can say is, this ain't my first rodeo and that girl was full of BS. If I'm wrong, that is my cross to bare. Since she didn't stick around, that lends more credence to it being BS. Someone who was legit wouldn't have taken their ball and gone home.

And they work for a fairly recent graduate in private practice in Benson or for a larger well established firm in a larger metropolitan area? Do they also get a couple of months off with pay their first year? The sum of the parts is the problem.

Also, she did not require any legal education so it would not be an experienced legal assistant. How many or those you know are entry level? International travel but no mention of a passport requirement, which does take time to acquire.

If someone came on here claiming to be a law enforcement officer and said they have a quota of tickets they have to write every month, would you give them the benefit of the doubt?

I did not call her a fraud immediately, even though I suspected at the outset that she was not what she claimed to be. I waited and watched, and she continued to raise my suspicions with practically every post. I laid out in another thread what it was about her first post that set off my B.S. meter, and I won't do it again here. But I don't believe I'm required to take at face value everything anyone says on this or any other forum. I don't think it's possible to slander an anonymous poster. If you think she was on the level, perhaps you can tell me how many 27 year old female attorneys live alone in a historic home in downtown Benson?

Creating a fictional persona to play on the internet is harmless enough, but when the fiction is so transparent, no one should take offense that it's not taken as factual. I was serious in my suggestion that she take her fictional character to a national forum where some of the fiction would not be so obvious.

Everyone has legit reasons for thinking she was a fraud, but my problem was in stating as FACT that she was. It's simply someone's opinion which they are totally entitled to, but for everyone to try and make it sound like it was true simply because they feel like it was isn't fair and I'll reserve judgement until someone can prove otherwise, which I'm also entitled to do. I'm clearly in the minority on this one so it will be exhausting to try and continue on with this discussion so I will just leave it that this is how I feel and it's clear how others feel.

SO TRUE, KD. And furthermore, *if* this poster really were who they said they were one would expect them (esp being an attorney, and even if not) to hang around a bit trying to convince us of who they are.

But when the mob has already decided that you are a fraud it really would also be impossible to try and convince people being up against as many people as she would have been and being examined under a microscope. Nobody should have to convince the board of who they are. I'm not sure it will help any lurkers come out of hiding. I don't blame her if she decided it wasn't worth it to defend herself against as many people as she would have had to on the community discussion board.

Mob? Are you freaking serious. I hope you can breath the thin air up there on your high horse. Geez! No one tarred and feathered her. Just legitimately questioned her and her motives. :ack:

That's not true, we have gotten "troll feelings" from people before and they are still here. Either you are legit or you are not, time will tell.

If a highway patrolman told me he had to fill a quota of tickets, i would call BS because it isnt true.
