Holy Cow I just read about this on wral and was glad to see that he did not get off. Thanks to you and the others for taking the time and doing your duty in such an important case. :hurray:
Thanks. The only charge we could not get a guilty on was the reckless driving. They could not prove he was going over the speed limit though we all knew in our hearts he was. I think we all wanted to make sure he went away for a long long time. I think we all feared he would be deported and would sneak back into the US and start doing it again. After we got dismissed most of us went to the back of the court room and listened to the rest of any extra testimony. The defendent got up on to the stand and through his interpretor said how he has had a job for 2-2 1/2 years and how he was sending money back home to his 8 brothers and sisters (BOO HOO. Should of thought about that along time ago). And we listened to the judge pronounce sentence. After court was over we got to talk to the family members. I had hugged Marcus Lassiter's Mom and Grandmom, Shook his fathers hand. Even got to talk to some of the other relatives. Even got to talk to the DA and the Assistant DA
Thank you for you service, Rocky. Serving on a jury is both a privilege and a responsibility, and one of the most important safeguards of our constitutional rights.
Yes, thanks for helping to make our system work as it should. Without you and those like you it could not.
