    Kids Haircuts

I do have to had my two cents on this subject. You do not have to take your kid to a 'kid friendly' salon. Rather to a hairdresser that is kid friendly!! I know this from experience. They have a place called Jay Jay's kids cuts off falls of the neuse road. yes, it was neat they had airplane and character seats but the stylists were horrible. My son sat still and they still had uneven cut!!!

I would go with Harley's suggestion. I just went to Jenny myself yesterday for a cut and she is fabulous!!! I am sure she would be good with kids with her personality!!

PS. Thanks Harley for posting about her change in hair salon!!

    FYI - kids salon

I am not recommending these places, but providing information. I, personally , would go to Fantastic Sam's or a place locally. By the time you get to these places your child will be tired of riding!!

I took my child to Raffles (not sure if spelling is correct) and I only paid $10 for the cut. The $10 haircut for children is only good on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Raffles is next to Lowes Food in Clayton.

    JJ's

JJ's Kids Kuts is great for a first cut. They put your kid in a special chair, which is a truck, plane or animal ride. They pop in a video of your child's choice and have an endless supply of lolipops(bribery) to get through it. Then there are toys and little trinkets(more bribery) to buy for them when the survive. They also have three nintendo games, toys and a play area with slides.

I took my son there for his first haircut and I couldn't get him out of there afterwards. They have locations in Cary and up in North Raleigh. Its a good way to get them used to the experience. Then you can switch to a local place.

I too am a fan of JJs kids cuts. My son loved it and that is the only place I go, their chairs are kid oriented and they get a tv and get to pick out a movie to watch. There is another woman that stands there to blow bubbles while the stylist cuts the hair. and you get a free photo and certificate for the first haircut. I go to the one in Cary.
