I still don't know which is the salad fork and which is the meal fork :? But I do know - yes mam, yes sir, no mam, no sir and to be respectful of everyone, their property and their feelings - if not, mom would have tore my tail up! :lol:
I just don't understand how people sit and eat a meal with their mouths wide open, or talk with food in their mouth. Skeeves me out! :ack:
generally, one "works" from outside, inwardly with silverware..1st course is farthest outside fork, etc. I've also found that, rather than getting tripped up in the complexity of silverware and which wine glass to use, most hosts and hostesses would much prefer that you enjoy your dinner and conversation, rather than worry about using an incorrect fork. Bon appetit
