I haven't had a migraine since my teens. Other than the "ocular' migraine I got when pregnant with DS. Freaked my OB out! I had serious visual disturbances (literally couldn't see out of one eye all of a sudden.) Basically it was a migraine without the headache part. Lots of fun though, scared the crap out of me. Neurologist said it was hormonal and I may be in for a rough time when menopause hits. Yeah me!

I get a migraine maybe 2 times a month, about the only thing I can do to help get rid of it is Excederin, and few hours of sleep.

Ugh I feel that one about to start today. Sometimes if I go outside and take a walk and just relax it will stop, think I am about to try that.

    Topomax

I take Topomax at night to prevent migraines. I haven't had a migraine since I started the medicine in January. I used to wake up with a horrible headache every morning and sometimes it would turn into a "throwing up can't stand to have the lights on" migraine. I have been very happy with Topomax. I was addicted to Diet Pepsi for the last 20 years though, and as soon as I started taking the Topomax, it made my Diet Pepsi taste flat, all soft drinks are flat. I thought I had some bad Pepsi's at first, and then I read on the side effects that it does that. So now I no longer drink Diet Pepsi, just water.
