I would LOVE to have perfume outlawed! I think it's nice to wear a little perfume once in a while, but I could sacrifice it if I don't have to smell it on other people anymore. Besides, you only need a tiny bit of it so only you and a person very close to you can smell it. I know people (my mom included) who get physically ill from smelling perfume in an elevator or car.
I honestly think this a stupid idea. Seeing it from the business side (since I deal with restaurants and bars), this will not be good for any of them. Since I play in bars all of the time as a musician, I don't like the heavy, smoke-filled rooms but those are the customers. Take away the customers right to smoke in those establishments and their numbers will dwindle and eventually go out of business. This does not mean that people who DO NOT smoke will start going out to restaurants and bars now that there is a no smoking ban. The majority of people who patronize bars, smoke. It's not right to remove more freedoms from people and expect them to react in a positive manor. It's stupid and Bev Purdue needs to wake up and realize this will hurt our economy. But...she's just another idiot in the demoncratic party that makes knee-jerk decisions based on mis-information or emotions.
Look lady what do you propose I do to mask my B.O. would you rather smell that or a sweet fragrance??? :jester::jester: at least I smell like a sweet pig and not a rotted out pig carcass... :jester: no disrespect to you tassy.... LOL
Smokers will not frequent places in which they cannot smoke? They do not see movies? They do not go to hospitals? They do not go to the programs in schools? I suppose the smokers will all sit at home now. But you assume the inverse based on what? Spoken as the voice of experience ...... all the way around.
Doesn't the Clubhouse have smoking? I have never been because I heard once that there was a lot of smoke, but I have also heard that it's a cool place and always wanted to go but didn't because I knew I wouldn't enjoy it with the smoke. Now I will be sure to check it out.
The law will be signed by the governor and everyone will adapt to it to each own's situation. My husband has breakfast just about every morning Mon - Fri at a restaurant in Garner. It's him and a bunch of guys who sit around, have a good hearty breakfast, several pots of coffee, fix all the world's problems and then head out to work. Some of them smoke and some don't. They all sit in the smoking section. The guys who don't smoke have never complained about the smoking and they enjoy sitting with the crowd spouting off their fixes to the world's problems. The owner of the restaurant says she will no longer higher anyone under the age of 18 for any position. She is going to wait and see what impact the new law has on her business and then adjust accordingly. She is considering all changes which she might need to make in the future to keep her customers coming through the door. My husband has said that if he is no longer allowed to sit, eat his breakfast, drink his coffee and shoot the bull, and light up then he will just order his meal to go and take it to the office. It appears the owner won't loose his business completely but the waitresses will not benefit.
