Can anybody find/post the website that shows the pics and bios of kids in foster care available for adoption? I can't seem to locate it. I think there was a link on NBC17 at one point but I can't find it there either. Every once in a while I pop in and look at the kids. I've seen some of the same kids there for a few years.
If anyone wants to discuss adoption w/ me, I am open. I also help place special needs children from another country(not Russia). The foster care system would be great and we checked into it. However, there are alot of things folks don't know about how the process works w/ the foster care. They give even the most messed up mothers chance after chance. By the time most of these kids are available, they have been through a life of horror. I know for a fact one child we looke at kept being sent back to live w/ the father(alcoholic) just b/c he was the bio dad. He lived out of his car. Truly not a life for a young boy but the state felt it imperative he be w/ his father. I wish the system were different, many of us do. Many more would adopt from the US foster system IF things were to change. I know we would. However, we were led down a different path for whatever reason that may be. We encourage everyone to look at adoption. Whether it is a foreign country, stateside or the foster system. EVery child deserves a home. Doesn't matter where they are from. That's just my opinion. So many kids wait. If you want to check out kids available in the US foster system go to www.adoptuskids.org. There are all states listed. There is also the heart gallery which is a fantastic project. in the meantime, I think we have found someone to watch the kids. Thanks again for all the leads. Have a great week, Stephanie.
Congrats on being so caring, but WHY are you adopting 2 more children when you can't find care for the 5 you already have? Don't they have a limit on how many kids one can adopt? What if something happened to you or your husband, or both and you couldn't care for them, who would take on the responsibility? Just my opinion. Good luck with them all.
I saw a special on TLC about a family that adopted 24 special needs kids over a period of several years. They had 3 biological kids of their own, for a total of 27.......
