So how does that work hugh? If people click they have to pay... if they don't then what? And how did you lose money doing it... if you don't mind me inquiring 8)
Yes when you click on it they pay money, I used to pay between $0.05 and $5.50 per "Click Through" (I saw some for much higher but chose not to go there). It is kind of an auction process, if there are a number of folks that want to advertise on the same searches as you do you can get your ad placed higher by paying more money for each click through. Since there aren't that many folks advertising on the Google search "Clayton" they are probably not paying that much for each click on it. What if they don't? Originally if your advertisement was not very productive (how many clicks you got for each time your advertisement went up) they would remove your ad, but they started easing off on that. The year I spent $40,000 dollars they sent me a nice wired mouse and flash drive with a Google logo all over it for Christmas. Another year they gave me a nice thermos coffee cup. Unfortunately we did not get much business.
None of them. I'm just interested in Clayton and when I found the website during a Google search I thought it would be a good name to use. Never mind just forget I brought it up. Whatever. :chillpill:
So funny that her screen name on here is the same as the link of her website. She must be Clayton's number 1 fan! Someone get her a Comets Tshirt FAST!!! :jester:
You have some gonads to think that, after four posts, you have enouigh cred to tell us to :chillpill:.
Wow, tough crowd this 4042.com - especially Mr. Squirrel Nuts over there. At least when I linked to my sites (You remember, right? My blog, my website and my other blog) I didn't do it with over enthusiastic promo copy. I introduced myself on an introduction thread - part of who I am is what I do...including my websites. MyNC.com is part of a media conglomerate. Media General, if I'm not mistaken. It's basically a franchise - these people run the site for a portion of the profit from advertising...like...Pay Per Click advertising which we've been so enthusiastically urged to click. They're just trying to make a living.
ok i checked out the web site. i don't know why i would return there again. it has links to articles by the herald, nbc17, etc. their video is very short and did not tell me anything. was this a senior class project or something? i give it a 1 on a 1-10 scale and give it less than 6 months before it dies. i did not see a discussion board, etc.
For its purpose, it's actually a good site. It's just a news aggregation site for the mostpart. I don't think it's explicitly competing with 4042.com on every front, but it has lots of video...which is big these days on the web. They make money off advertising and some relevant content. Don't look now, but I think that's what happens here, too - minus the discussion board, of course. Multiply the money they make on the Clayton site, by the number of sites they have nationwide, and they probably make good money.
It looks like Benson and Smithfield will get their own new webs also. http://smithfield.mync.com/site/smithfield http://benson.mync.com/site/benson
Benson already has a website that works great, as does Smithfield...minus the discussion board of course.
