<hijack> aw, thanks for that too - I need all compliments I can get. Got the big 30th reunion this weekend and I am STRESSING about what to wear with the crazy cold weather. They said to dress warm and casual for Sat night - is it not going to be inside??? Anyways, I think I've decided to wear that sweater that I wore to your house last Sun.. what do ya think?
Sarah Palin Interview - Watch it, it is on Topic! As someone stated, it is like watching a David Lynch video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-kjM1asH-8
yes, yes! love that sweater. I may even go the place you said you got it, and check it out. Good color for you, and it looked good with your hair. too bad your 'peice' won't be in for you to wear with it!!
My neighbor is vegetarian... she is determined to have "tofurkey" and a good (define good without being meat-based?) gravy this Thanksgiving. Last year she had just gone vegetarian before the holidays, so she only picked at the veggie dishes, but this year she is a bit more determined.
Seriously, I like tofu in stir-fry with a variety of vegetables, lots of mushrooms, served over rice or quinoa. But I have never liked imitation meat - whether tofu-based or soy-based. There are lots of really good vegetarian dishes that do not imitate meat at all. Don't tell Hugh, but I'm still gonna cook a big ol' turkey!
One very important tip if this is your first time cooking a turkey. Be sure to take the bags and neckbone out of the cavaties. Don't laugh. Many cooks have not done this the 1st time they cooked a turkey.
The oven bags work great! I season mine with butter, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning. In the bottom of the bag, I add chicken broth, celery and onion to keep it moist and add flavor. Always tender and juicy. For those just doing at turkey breast, I think I posted about putting it in a crock pot and it was the best turkey I've ever had.
Don't mean to hijack but KDS, I love your avatar! I had a siamese baby that looked just like yours several years ago, his name was Dudley, rest his soul.
Thanks, that picture was taken several years ago but she still looks just like that. She's 19 years old now, she's still pretty active, but kind of flaky. I think she's got feline dementia. Her name is Sheba, and she's still my baby.
