I got a thought!! How about a-whole-nother forum for church "discussions" ..." Questions are questions are questions... I've found a few answers helpful myself, when I had time to sift through the dead horse beating ... kwim? I'm just sayin' ... What would it hurt?
That's a great suggestion! A Church/Religion/Spritual forum would be great - Prayer requests, devotions, spiritual discussions, etc., could all go here. A Gardening forum would be fantastic, too. - with all the hits (3,512 last count) I got from my Strawbale Gardening thread, I see alot of gardeners out there
Nah, some had rather go with mindless speculation than to call and actually obtain facts. Never let facts get in the way of a good rant.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh no. If i do recall, there was a bit of an uproar when it was suggested that a Sports Only type forum would be a good idea....to let parents know about GCAA, YMCA, MCAA events and the like. Remember all the people who said we didnt need one? All we had to do was learn to use the search feature.
Oh YES!!! I sure do remember that. I started the thread with a poll question and it just made life almost unbearable for "some" folks on here so they went into full attack mode.   Maybe they will be nicer to you Kent. I sure do hope so.
10-4, sister, I'm all for being nice to me! ;-) Your comment reminded me of a vote we took at my church to go to 2 services, an 8:30 am and a 11 am worship service. Some of the ones who voted AGAINST having an early service were the first ones there when we started it! But even if YOU wouldn't like an early service, why would you be against ME going? So goes the forum poll, if you would not participate, why would you be against anyone else joining in? I don't understand that sort of thinking. So, we'll see.
Yeah! I don't understand that sort of thinking either. I think it just has to do with folks being extremely insecure and therefore having serious "control" issues. Looks like the "forum police" might be a little nicer to you (though it seems they might still have their feelings hurt with me)
I totally agree with you. What about a cop out by the schools, especially the ones that don't have lights.
It's a "Sermon Factory" you get the same sermon no matter which one you go to...What ever happened to preaching from the heart instead of one sermon fits all?
What about letting the kids ride the bus to school? I can see taking your kids if you do before/after school care, are in a different district, or after school activities(on the days of those), but isn't that why we pay taxes, for school bus service? It would save you on gas and help save the environment at the same time. I can't wait until next year when my daughter can actually ride the bus and doesn't have to go to before/after care.
Well unfortunately no one preaches from the heart anymore except some of the old timers still going strong. Everyone is so hell bent on PC and acceptance it's pathetic.
Sheriffs Dept and C3 C3 is paying the deputys' (who are off duty to direct traffic) It is not cheap either. It became such a safety issue with that much traffic leaving and coming in, that C3 had to make a responsible decision to prevent accidents. We are adding another drive on Cleveland school road and one on Joshephine Rd. They should be open shortly. We are working with DOT on evaluating a possible turn lane, but it does not look like it is in the cards. The entire cost would be on C3, but we are still working for the safest, possible solution for the community and C3 members.
My son use to ride the bus all the time until five kids jumped him on the bus. When I called the school about the incident the asst. told me my son was being a baby and he wasn't going to do anything about it except to tell me to drive my son to and from school. His exact words were "just drive him and the problem will be solved." As my son was yelling for the bus driver to help him she turned around and told him to shut up. My son will never get on a bus again.
My 13 yo daughter had a similar experience, but not physical violence. The asst. told us some BS, so my DH, I and my daughter went and sat down with his boss the Principle. The principle listened to us and looked at my daughters outstanding academic record and the next day called the other students and their parents into her office and told them if it happened again they would be suspended off the bus, that they had a record of trouble making, well the parents didn't want that, so I guess they made their kids straighten up. No other incidents have happened and now they are extremely nice to my daughter. If I hadn't gotten results from the principle, I'd of kept going higher until I got results.
