I have officially spent too much time researching this jewelry and I've decided I need it all.

Michelle did you find anything out about selling kidneys?

Just skimmed the thread but is this something i could give the granddaughter and she could just keep adding to remember different steps in her life? i gave her a beautiful white gold charm bracelet when she was little and every time she did something memorable, i bought her a charm to remember it by but unfortunately she lost it a few years ago.

Size-wise it might be a little large for a young girl. You should go to Dewaynes or somewhere and look at one of the ones in the display case that are full of beads, its a pretty substantial piece of jewelry when its full.

Ok, but the child is almost 12, she wears a lot of my jewelry - my rings fit her now and she is wearing my shoes (geez kids grow up so fast), i just want to give her something to cherish and remember later on when she is older and i may not be around, i know, i am a sentimental ole fool:lol:

Oh Lord, where is that place? Forgive me, I'm still a newbie to the area. It is better for the jewerly part than DeWayne's??

You could always start one for her now for all those memorable moments, and give it to her on her 16th birthday. My only other concern would be losing it at such a young age, its not a cheap piece of jewelry as its added to. Authenitic Pandora sterling silver beads run anywhere from $25-$85 on average, times 18-20 beads.

    Just my 2 cents

thanks and that is a great idea, could work on it over the years and be a great sweet 16th bd present - you rock girl, such great ideas from someone who doesn't even have kids (i know i go overboard on her sometimes, just waited so long for a girl, ya know), much less grandkids - love ya:grouphug: Ok, so don't make me read through the whole thread, where is the best place to get it started?

    Thanks!

Here is a link to the official Pandora page

There are a few Pandora dealers in Raleigh and Cary (besides DeWaynes in Smithfield). I know Baileys and Dewaynes just did a promo, buy a bead and get the bracelet free. Use the Store Locater link on the page and call the other stores and see if maybe they have any upcoming promo's. Otherwise, the pricing all runs the same from place to place, Pandora sets it.

Chamilia is very similiar, a little less expensive on the beads, and having the same sort of promo at Jewelry Warehouse in Raleigh tomorrow and Thursday. You know when you left your old office heading down Old Trawick towards the Lunchbox, it would be the street on the left before you got to the lunchbox, its down on the left, next to American Brewmaster.

This is Jewelry Warehouse website, but they don't show on it that they are a Chamila dealer.

You can also find alot of knock-off beads on ebay that will fit either bracelet. But IMHO if I were doing it as a gift for someone as special as a grandaughter, I would want to stick to it being all authentic beads from either maker.

I don't know about other stores, but the bonus to DeWaynes is the customer appreciation card, I put those gift cards I get for my points, back towards a new bead.

    Have fun with it!!
