Along the same line...what is with people bringing their parents, brothers, sisters, kids, aunts, uncles, cousins, and best friends to a child's dr's appt.? It's SO annoying when I bring one of the kids for their appt., and there is a family of 10 there for ONE of their kid's appt.s! They take up the whole freaking waiting room!

LOL...you should see the ER waiting room sometimes. We only allow 2 visitors at a time in the exam rooms. Sometimes we have to ask visitors to leave the waiting room to make room for sick people..imagine that!!

I may be wrong, but I think its the students have to have an A avg (or maybe its an A/B avg) and no absences (for that 9wks), then they're exempt from final EOC's.

Exactly. Now, if I'm REALLY sick, with something other than a cold, I won't come, even if I have to take a day without pay. But, if I'm mildly sick, and I don't have sick time left, I'm coming in.

As for my daughter, I will not send her to daycare with a fever. She has all four grandparents in the area and one of them can easily care for her while she is sick if I can't get off of work.

I would never send my kid to school with a fever, that's just an obvious sign that something is wrong! BUT...I have sent my oldest to school before after he threw up, only because he's had a history of stomach issues (non-contagious, digestive) and could never tell what the actual problem. Luckily he seems to have outgrown that, so it's not so much of an issue anymore.
