Why do flies seem to always buzz around me? No sarcastic remarks. It seems as though if one fly is in a room (den, restaurant, wherever) it flies all around me. Even if I go upstairs the darn thing follows. Having no life, I have even tried to sneak upstairs to avoid the fly following me. Why me? Restaurants are the same way...seems like if the restaurant has one fly that sucker is always at our table. Why? Why? I always have a fly swatter next to me at home because I know if we have one it will come my way. Sherry
Here's a link to a picture of this - we have one hanging out front about 5' from our front door and two out back - this works VERY well! Where we could have 5-10 flys zoom in behind us each time we have a door open for just 30 seconds, and ran around swatting and picking up carcasses, plus the dogs catching some, since the bags, if we get one fly a day in the house, it's a lot. We did ours the same way pictured - works perfectly! http://hardwareaisle.thisoldhouse.com/2008/06/bag-o-water-fri.html
There is a very bad Italian Restaurant in Sparta, Tennessee that has taped bags of water to their walls throughout the restaurant. When asked why they did this they explained that it cut down on the flies. Well after me and the Engineers poopooed this I noticed they really did not have any flys in the restaurant (which might very well be for other reasons). Did not excuse the food however!
Okay, that is about the most interesting thing I've seen in a while. I'm going to have to give it a try!
I did feel a bit foolish but I hung up my ziplock bags! So far so good, not sure if the population is down due to swatting, windex, hairspray or the baggie trick but whatever works I'll take it.:hurray:
We are having this problem also. I thought it was just us. It seems every time we open a door 10 more flies show up in the house.
