It wasn't Islamics who blow up abortion clinics and kill doctors who perform abortions. They claimed to be Christian.

Would you feel better if I pointed out a passage in the Bible where God tells Moses that anyone who doesn't believe in Him should be taken outside the city and stoned?

People seem to forget two very important things.

First, not all Islamics are 7734 bent on killing "infidels". If there were, we would surely lose just out of simple numbers.

Second, there have been more deaths in history in the name of "Christianity" than to any other religion.

Name one leader of a major Christian denomination who publicly supported the bombing of abortion clinics.

    You're disgusting.

Clif, couldn't agree with you more on this one.

    Oy, how about this statement,

"There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord"

Can't be too hard to read and comprehend what this is telling us. If you don't believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, you'll have no salvation. Not much doubt with that statement you're saying someone is going to hell for not believing in Jesus Christ as Lord.

Of course that comes from that "radical" Christian group, The Southern Baptists. You might have noticed a few of those churches in this area.

(Not trying to pick on Southern Baptists, just easiest to find in a short amount of time)

    Or this one:

Jesus Christ-He is God's unique Son; the only one of a kind. The Scripture teaches that He is God revealed in flesh. In His Divine nature He is truly God and in His human nature truly man. He is the One once crucified for man's sin, the now risen and glorified Savior and Lord who mediates between God and man and who gives us access to the Father through His intercession. None can come to the Father unless they come through Him.

    That's from:

gotta disagree with you here, oy. christians absolutely do believe the only way to salvation is through jesus.

went to a catholic midnight christmas mass once with my wife (i was raised a baptist)...during the recitation of prayers, i was all good with it until the part about swearing that there is only one path, one truth, and that all others are wrong...yadda yadda. it's the intolerance of christianity that turns many people off of it. i'm fully supportive of people worshipping their gods as they define them, as long as killing people who don't believe like they do isn't part of it....i personally think that all religions are actually worshipping the same "god", it's just that the practices are culturally different....

on the other hand, that passage about moses being told by god that non-believers should be stoned might be there, but it's not used in modern christianity to incite people to actually go out and stone non-christians. whereas whatever ancient text the radical muslims find in the koran that parallels that christian passage absolutely are using it now to incite people to go out and kill all the infidels.....

As the product of a parochial grade school run by the Sisters of Christian Charity, a parochial High School administered by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and as the graduate of a Jesuit university with numerous theology and humanities credits, I can assure you that Catholics don't believe that all the Jews are going to hell.

I think you're more than a little off the deep end.

With all that learning, and you aren't aware of the Pope starting the Inquisition? You know, that little fiasco where in the Pope ordered that all non-believers swear an oath to God or be put to death?

Thought the following site was an interesting comparison to the two holy books.

Maybe not blowing up abortion clinics, but the State Department and killing a state leader ........

    http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-08-22-robertson-_x.htm

"We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability," Robertson said Monday on the Christian Broadcast Network's The 700 Club.

    <snip>

Robertson has made controversial statements in the past. In October 2003, he suggested that the State Department be blown up with a nuclear device. He has also said that feminism encourages women to "kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."

Sounds more like FG is pointing out the curriculum vitae in this case is a negative endorsement for that educational track. It is not unexpected that Oy/Ed would be used as the example of what not to do given the level of thought and understanding in his posts.

That's ok. This has been a test of what I already knew to be true. Question the Conservative agenda and you're automatically labeled a Liberal. Apparently there is no middle ground.

Conservatives, such as Oy Yayoy, are becoming more and more like the Libs they claim to despise. At one time we had the higher ground. We let the Libs do the name calling and the irrational hatred of our party. No longer, though. Now our party is running rampant with the likes of Oy Yayoy which makes it difficult, if not impossible, to look like the adults we always claimed we were. They have become a parody of themselves.
