There is also Holt Lake BBQ and Seafood. Its family owned and very good. Be prepared to stand in line if you go for dinner though. And they are not opened on Sundays.

Jones cafe' is a local landmark and we try to make it there every couple of weeks. For those who have not been be aware that it is pretty much seat yourself, smoke where you want and get to know the locals. We love going to Jones as we get to see people, talk, visit and have some good ole' greasy food. Even my dad, who lives in Pensacola, like to go to Jones when he is in town. He gets the hotdog all the way...slaw, chili, peppers, etc. (not good for my heartburn).

What king of restaurant is Toot N Tell? Read that off in my house and everyone says poot and talk about the food...........

"Toot N Tell It" was a restaurant with car hops when I was in high school. 50+ years ago. LOL
Now serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have fresh vegetables for lunch and dinner. Last time we were there to front part of restaurant is smoking. Pretty thick smoke to get to non smoking section as they have low ceilings and bad ventilation. May have changed by now.

You got that right, even DS when he went to the burg last time with his fiance from Chicago had to initiate her to the place, you cannot visit the burg or say you know the town if you have not been there:)

Had a Christmas party at Becky's Log Cabin a few years ago-Good experience

Millies in Smithfield- Low scores great food!

Never seem to make it to Jones Lunch before close-Sorry! I hear it is good from all the locals!

    Stephensons BBQ-Quite good!

Mulberry on Main only here a short time, but used them for catering many years in Jersey for family events-Superb

Boondinos FIRST TIME LUNCH TODAY based on this thread dropped off the boys at P58 had a great lunch and looked around the other diners had great looking food too. Spoke with the owner who waited on us-nice people. We will go again when in the area!

Would love to hear about more places like this. When I traveled the country for a flour and bakery ingredient company training bakers I was in a different town everyfew days to a week. I always asked the locals where to go that was good and locally known. There is always one in any town. I ate very well and met the greatest people and saw some interesting things as well. Don't pass by the dive looking place with a full parking lot at lunchtime you'll never know what you just passed up.

I am still looking for the Yocco's experience www.yoccos.com/ where I can get a good hot dog with chili-onions-mus-My Friend, pierogies, and an ice cold beer for a few bucks like in Allentown, PA... let me know if you find it! I used to stop for lunch after baking all night back in the mid 80's
