Porter's Farms Ice Cream

We went to Porters Sunday and bought a bunch of veggies and had a vegetable supper. Their squash is the best and hubby loves the better boy tomatoes for his mater samwiches.

Love the ice cream too! It's all good!

 

we have been going for years too! I just love them! I love having them right by my house too! My favorite ice cream is the sugar free chocolate and of course, the strawberry.

 

Have you tried the chocolate thunder? It's not sugar free but it is arm licking good.

They had watermelons for sale yesterday. I didn't get one though. The corn was really good, but not as good as the ice cream!!!

 

those weren't their watermelons, the ones they have there now are from SC.

If its grown there, at Porter's, it''ll have a sign saying so, most of the time. I always ask....I only want their stuff.

 

Good to know...I didn't buy one because they were $7 and I thought that was a bit steep.

hmmm...sounds like I might be having corn for supper tonight!!:lol: I have to go up to Lowe's foods area for an appt later anyway.

Growing up, living on a farm we had many nights where we only had sweet corn for dinner!!! Well plus some bread, didn't want to eat too much with nothing else :lol: I remember eating 8-9 ears for dinner night....yup I LOVE me some sweet corn!!! Just can't get this stuff from the store either!!! That stuff in the store is NASTY!!!!!

 

I have bought corn from Food Lion recently and it was pretty decent - not as good as Porter's - but it wasn't NASTY!

Truth be told...when I get desperate, maybe once a year I will buy some from Food Lion, but I'M NOT going to get that frozen corn on the cob stuff :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Porter Farms

Hubby and I just got back from after supper ice cream at Porter Farms. The sugar free Chocolate is super yummy!!! Lots of rich chocolate flavor! They had a large crowd up there, probably 20+ folks sitting around eating ice cream! One day when I dont have to count Weight Watcher points or calories, I will go whole hog and get the triple scoop of blueberry, banana chocolate and butter pecan, until then, my kiddie cup of sugar free chocolate will do just fine.
Another good ice cream place is Sunny Skies in Angier. They have all homemade icecreams but they have about 30 flavors, the cake batter ice cream is to die for!

 

Where is this place?

 

On 42 about 3 miles past highway 50 headed toward Fuquay Varina. There's a big strawberry in front.
