Ok, you corn experts. Question, what do you believe is the best way to grill corn on the grill? Have tried several different ways, but always looking for the best. TIA:)

I've done it in the husk, we peeled them back, removed the silk, then left 3 or 4 layers and pulled it back up. Threw them on the grill.....................yum! Can't remember how long we cooked them, but they were excellent.

We grilled some Porter's cobs last night...soak 'em in cool water for about ten minutes. Toss 'em in husks on the grill. Cook for ten minutes then rotate every two minutes till done. You will recognize the smell when they are done. If they start to pop, you went too long!

Let it soak in water, in the husks for about 30 minutes. Then throw it on the grill in the husks, roll it around for about 20 minutes med/high, turning every few minutes. We had friends who used to sell corn at the local fairs, they used charcoal and a big pig-cooker grill. It was the best corn, and this was how they cooked it!

Off the subject of ice cream but I order Avon from the website. Should I feel bad about that? I don't know anybody so...

My husband's a chef. He soaks them in salt water. I don't know if that makes a difference, but that's what he does.

Soak in saltwater for a few hours, then leaving the husks on the corn grill them directly over the coals. Periodically rotate the corn until the husks are all black, then pull back the husks and dip directly into a coffee can of melted butter (for small quantities we just roll the hot cob on a stick of butter).

So I don't get sued "The pulling back of the husk can be very hot, plenty of paper towel around the husk/handle.

Thanks all for the advice on the corn - i had heard about soaking and was wondering and from all of your advice it seems the way to go:hurray: Picked up the corn last night along with lots of other goodies and dgs loved the cherry/pineapple ice cream and lemonade.

Another good ice cream place is Sunny Skies in Angier. They have all homemade icecreams but they have about 30 flavors, the cake batter ice cream is to die for![/QUOTE]

    Where is Sunny Skies?
