NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETINGS OF THE
    JOHNSTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The Johnston County Board of Commissioners has scheduled two special community meetings for the purposes of receiving feedback from citizens located within the McLemore Fire District of Johnston County regarding a proposal to create a parks and recreation service tax district along the boundaries consistent with the McLemore Fire District.

The Cleveland Parks and Recreation Committee asked the Johnston County Board of Commissioners to establish the parks and recreation service tax district pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes 153A-301 and 302.

If the parks and recreation district was approved and established, property owners located within the McLemore Fire District would be subject to an additional tax to support the district. Property owners residing within the McLemore Fire District will be mailed a postcard notifying them of these meetings in early February.

The meetings will be held on February 21, 2019 and February 25, 2019 at the Cleveland High School in the Auditorium located at 1892 Polenta Road, Clayton, NC. The meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. and are open to the public. All citizens living within the McLemore Fire District boundaries are encouraged to attend one of these meetings and provide feedback.
